If I'm reading this chapter right, Ashura didn't win. They both destroyed each other. Anyone else checked out the MP translation?

Seems to imply Naruto === Sasuke, assuming Sauce is the reincarnation of Indra.

This chapter sort of lends credibility to Madara's argument that "The world that the Sage created has failed". Ultimately people did fail to understand each other. The principles of Ninshuu basically did fail, and hope really does seem to have abandoned the world, you know since it's about to end. Obviously Naruto will pull Ninja Jesus crap and unite the world through some crazy shounen love-peace-friendship stuff, but I think philosophically Madara is basically correct.

Are we here on NB really sure that Hagoromo isn't the final villain? He seems like the typical arrogant old man type..

The point of this thread is that Ashura didn't defeat Indra, and that the war never really ended. They were both destroyed, despite Ashura having many allies. Assuming what we all assume about who the other reincarnation is, Naruto is 100% unable to solo Sasuke. If Madara is the reincarnation of the Sage, then he's also stronger than Naruto. This pretty firmly pushes Naruto out of the top 10, at least for now.

But Madara died? So the spirit had to go somewhere else. Even if it went to Itachi, Itachi died as well. It's probably in Sasuke, since Indra was the Uchiha clan ancestor. Unless we think it was Obito, they're the last original "living" Uchiha. RT'd Madara doesn't really count.
