No, Minato said the 8 gates gave Gai power over the 5 kages, Edo Madara who wasn't going serious beat the 5 kages, Gai is under Madara's, Hashira,a's Tobirama's alive level and they are all below the Sage's son's level. As for how strong the Sage's sons were, Look at how strong Madara is to the current ninjas, he said they were pitiful when he was revived as an Edo, older ninjas tend to be stronger in Naruto verse even thought it says the next Generation surpasses the next.

How is it speculation? Gai is already murking Jin Madara, if you remove his Jin powers then he'd be dead by now. Sons aren't above Rinnegan Madara.

Gai isn't "Merking" him, but he's doing alot better than anyone else so far. So it's safe to say he'd probably rofl blitz anyone below that.

If you remove jin powers Madara would still have perfect susano'o. And lets face the facts here, PS >>>>> Gai in any state. It's pretty clear Gai can't even hurt Madara in any form, which is nothing unexpected really. Seventh Gate Hirudora couldn't even destroy/kill Kisame, going one level up to the eigth gate aint doing nothing to Madara in any state. EMS Madara shits on Gai with PS, any other Madara is just too much.

I don't think that EMS Madara or even SM Hashirama can survived Gai's eight gate havoc and many on this base along with myself believe that both VOTE Madara or VOTE Hashirama are above Indra or Ashura.
