Okay, so here we see the Sage, plus his 2 sons, above Indra's head is a crescent moon, and above Athsura's is a full moon (or a circle... just assuming it's a moon.) and above the Sage's is the Rinnegan. Any significant? You guys think so?

^ May be just fanart, I couldn't find a manga panel of it :T_T: But whatever, it works.

Okay, so what if Athsura's Full Moon represents him bringing the people together (in a whole, or full), while Indra's crescent represents him breaking them into pieces?

Just came up with this U_U

This was my thought actually. The crescent moon represents how Indra's heart could never be full because he walked a solo path. The full moon represents Ashura's heart. His ability to bring people together filled his heart with love and camaraderie.

I was thinking of making a similar thread but here it is.

I noticed that the crescent and full moon is symbolized by the sons a lot in this chapter. I think it has to do with their ways of peace or the love vs power thing. Also, if you notice it is similar as the sages staff. The crescent moon and then the full moon represents the way they wanted to bring peace to the world and Hagoromo maybe thought about both ways. Madara thinks by power you can bring peace so he has the crescent shaped staff like the older son.

For example here you can see above the sons the different moons.

Just noticed they already added this above me.

The symbol for the sun ( 日) and moon ( 月) combined represents the Ming dynasty ( 明)and is synonymous with enlightenment. When Kung Fu practitioners bow they bring an open palm with fingers closed together (representing the Moon) together with a closed fist (representing the Sun) in front of their body as a salute. This is in tribute to the Ming dynasty and the Han Chinese it's also a way of thumbing their nose at the occupying Qing dynasties Manchu origins, consider it early forms of gang sign.
