This thread is basically an analysis on why madara's has gone the way he has. well at least that's what I think I wrote here :s
We Know that madara's idea behind Infinite tsukuyomi is to force nishuu upon everyone. His plan is to use his infinite power, acquired through the juubi, to forcibly remove ninjutsu, from the world, and replace it with nishuu.

Through his years as hashirama's friend, for the first time, madara was able to, if only for a brief moment, experience the power of nishuu. Madara then decided that nishuu was a concept he would like to develop further, with hashirama's help, and created a village system where peace, through love and cooperation, could reside. However, after the founding of this dream system, due to events madara later experienced, the discovery of what was discussed in the previous paragraph(through reading the uchiha tablet) and the compounded effect of his genealogy, madara developed the idea of forced nishu(through Infinite tsukuyomi).

Side note
I wonder if madara ever met the sage? That is indeed an interesting thought. The sage stated that he is a manifestation of pure chakra which traverses time. Is it possible that the sage embedded some of his chakra into the uchiha stone tablet and, by reading through the tablet, in essence, you're able to call upon this manifestation and communicate with it? Maybe that's how madara knows about the sage - by actually meeting him. The sage did state that he has met many people through many cultures over the time. That would make it possible that he possibly met madara decades ago when madara read the tablet (with EMS or better).
This is all beside the point... Onto the purpose of this thread.

to new possibilities and, due to this, the sage made him the successor of nishuu. Through love and cooperation, ashura was supposed to spread and teach the world nishuu. However, this instead caused war, and the conclusion of the furtherment of nishuu. In order for Ashura to compete with the might of indra's ninjutsu prowess, ashura too had to

. Thus, the idea of nishuu being spread, through ashura, was now lost. Without convincing his brother, there would be no way for him to really teach nishuu, when he himself was using ninjutsu to solve his problems. This is because nishu and ninjutsu are polar opposites and ashura would basically be a hypocrite for not practicing what he would be preaching. Even if he did attempt to spread nishuu, during these times of war, no one would listen due to the formerly stated assertion. How could he spread and teach

. This way, madara could manipulate everyone's chakra into forcing what he intends; dissolving their ninjutsu and developing their nishuu. However nishuu shouldn't be forced. Madara's end goal is justifiable, however his execution clearly isn't. But, why is that? Well, that's because the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.Madara, and every other uchiha, are all descendants of indra. Indra's ideals, philosophies and logic flow through their very veins. . Madara's now trying to break this curse lingering in his blood, and practice something that's been eradicated from his gene pool from the onset; the practice of nishuu. However, that's easier said than done. For others, such as senju, and maybe uzumaki, the concept of nishuu has been lingering in their culture through the centuries. The basic concepts of love and cooperation (and tnj Lol) has been passed down through the generations, so attempting to spread nishuu comes naturally to them. For others, such as the uchiha, the concept of the furtherment of self power has been passed from generation to generation. This ideology even extended to the point where it became acceptable and normal for uchiha to sacrifice their happiness, loved ones, family, or their very power(eyes) in order to achieve a greater power; if only temporarily. Although there have been many uchiha, through the centuries, who have indeed tried to understand nishuu, Breaking the ingrained ideals of indra is hard, if notimpossible for most. Example; Itachi and shishu tried for peace and cooperation, however they did it the only way they've been bred to know how - on their own, by developing a lot of power. Both shishui and itachi did things to further their own power(gain MS), then used this power to achieve what they wanted all on their own(itachi states this to naruto/shishui trying to stop a coup on his own).Though Madara's attempting to do what was taught to both indra and ashura, he's planning on doing it through the only concept he knows and understands; the use of power.
