Ok so if your born in a military town... Let's say konoha, can you never leave or are you free to roam the world? And also can you decide you want to be a ninja and go to konoha and train and become a ninja there? I've only seen 1 ninja be able to come and go as they please and that's tsunada. Like if kiba decided he wanted to settle down in another town and start a family would he be able to?

Oh and what's up with the new thread format? May be just for mobile but idk.

Maybe you'd have to get permission from Hokage.

Also, maybe you accidentally changed it. In the bottom of the screen you can change to Standard Styles - NB vB4, or you can use Mobile Styles - Default Mobile Style. Maybe you changed that, or maybe you just changed the display off of Linear mode.

can you leave america and go to japan without approval?? lolol

yes, a villager of konoha can go to other places, there is escort missions in narutoverse, where ninjas escort people, so yes

and being a ninja is a decision, not every character in konoha is a ninja, take sakura mom for example

Jiraiya left as well. Maybe when you reach the status of Sannin, you are free to come and go as you please? Just my guess since both Tsunade and Jiraiya were able to do this.

Shinobis of a particular village must have permission from the respective Kage to leave the village. Otherwise they would be labelled as Rogue (there are chances that these shinobis do something outside the village without permission thus putting their own village in problems hence Permission is a must)

On the other hand, I don't think Sannins need any kind of permission. OR maybe they might have taken permission from the Hokages.
( Tsunade took permission from Hiruzen/Tobirama/Hashirama ) => For medical Researches
( Jiraiya took permission from Hiruzen/Tsunade ) => During his battle with Pain and encounters with Orochimaru

Sasuke was also going to be labeled as Rogue when he left the village without permission.

You know I was gonna say jman as we'll but I thought and he always said he was on research missions.

And I'm not asking if the can go other places I'm asking if they can leave konoha for good. And give me a name other than a Shannon that was able to leave or even come join. Seems like if you were born in konoha your automatically a ninja and that's the end of that.

I think you misinterpreted his meaning. He gave an example. He means leaving the village permanently to like Pursue something else in life.

Someone else posted a good answer to this. Maybe you need the kage's permission to leave. Ninja villages are very adamant about keeping clan secrets out of the hands of other villages so ninja are most likely not allowed to leave without the kage's consent.

You should be allowed to leave your country or town of birth to follow personal interests-unless of course you are implying Konoha is like North Korea. The problem with sasuke was that he followed orochimaru(a criminal) not the fact that he was leaving.

I see what your saying but at the same time if your allowed to leave why has no one ever left without be labeled a bad guy?

This guy gets it. Actually that's what I was thinking. Having a guy with a sharingan serve you ramen in a city might be a little ubsettling so I'm sure they have to keep everyone together. And look at it this way. If you were allowed to leave and pursue other dreams then why was the whole uchiha clan killed off in one spot in one night? You would think of all those people atleast one person would want something different in life and want to move. But nope everyone was gathered in one little area so I'm starting to think you live and die a shinobi and there's no other life for you

Lol that is wrong, Leaving Konoha or any other ninja village without permission is wrong on NV and if you do you're labelles as rogue... google what rogue means... it doesn't matter where you go or whom you're going to, That is how other Akatsuki members became rogue from their villages.. they left without permission.
