He doesn't view him as competition (I asked), he really didn't talk about his dad much. I think the whole thing is he views his mom as attractive, doesn't put his dad in the equation. So it's not a serious Oedipus

No, he said he hasn't let his mom know. He was probably kidding, but he's a weird guy so I wanted to be serious just in case

Maybe he is just horny for his mom, and he isnt experiencing the complex.

Then how come he's still attracted to his mom? After a child realizes he will never be able to compete with his dad (plus castration anxiety), supposedly his ego defenses act up: he displaces his... attraction from his mother to other girls.

It's not impossible, really depends on when a girl get's her period. Soon as that happens she is able to get pregnant. I got mine when I was 8 so.

I think he's just bullshitting. I mean he would be in a stage of the complex where he wouldn't be able to be talked out of It. It starts between the ages of 3-6. Finding his mom hot isn't a sign on that. Now if he was sexually obsessed with his mother...different story.

It really depends when a girl hits puberty. All the girls in my family got it by age 7 where as my friends got it at 12-13. It depends on where your body is. I have never heard of a 5 year old hitting puberty, physically the body wouldn't be able to handle being pregnant at that age. If It was true that girl is probably dead. The whole point in puberty is to have your body grow to accommodate a baby lol.
