Conditions:
Takes place in a universe where the Uchiha were not killed.

Itachi is still in the Leaf Village.

Hizashi Hyuga is still alive.

Takes place post-chuunin exam. So Sasuke has chidori, and Neji has his self taught Hyuga skills.

All Uchiha (including Sasuke) have 3 Tomoe Sharingan. No Mangekyou Sharingan for any Uchiha. Although they may acquire one later though; since grieving the loss of a loved one triggers Mangekyou activation.

Takes place in an open field in the Leaf Village.

Battle Strength:

500 Uchiha vs 500 Hyuga

Fugaku Uchiha commands the Uchiha. Hiashi Hyuga commands the Hyuga.

Itachi is a Lt to Fugaku, and Hizashi is a Lt to Hiashi.

Fight last only 1 day.

Every Hyuga presumably knows the gentle fist style. While every Uchiha presumably can perform the fireball, phoenix fire and dragon flame jutsus. The main branch of the Hyuga are allowed to learn the rotation, and 64 palms. Neji was able to learn both by observation with his byuakugan.

So one clan excels in ninjustu (the fire style), while the other excels in taijutsu (gentle fist).

In CQC the Uchiha are at a disadvantage. However the 3 tomoe sharingan should allow them to stand equally against the Hyuga. Assuming the Uchiha actually live up to their reputation for being elites (great speed, power and chakra stamina) and are not all fodder with cool eyes. For the Hyuga though; their challenge is to actually be good at gentle fist. Chuunin exam Hinata matched Neji for every move. She knew they style but wasn't hitting the chakra points and doing any visible damage (despite Neji's roughed up appearance).

Not every Uchiha can fight at canon Itachi (who learned from Fugaku, Anbu, Obito/Madara training), and Sasuke's (who learned from Fugaku, Kakashi, Orochimaru) level. Your average Uchiha = your Average Hyuga in theory.

^Not really. The uchiha clan was by far established to be the strongest that's why even though the higher ups knew that they were rebelling they didn't dare attack them but rather preferred someone who has a sharingan and is used to their fighting style.

No it can't. The truth is, every hyuuga has the same fighting style.(some are simply better at it than others.) OTOH, all the uchihas we have seen are completely different. Even if you take away MS, the way madara,obito,itachi,sasuke etc fight is different.

^ True. However the MS is what defines Itachi and Obito for the most part. Sasuke and Madara are easy. They both care about power, and only use the strongest ninjutsus. MS and EMS being tools for them to further exploit.

Itachi forte is genjutsu. It's the default card he plays against nearly everyone. Speed is also a great weapon of his. Outside of MS though, Itachi lacks powerful ninjutsu. Frak he lost to Sasuke in a duel of the basic fireball jutsu. Haven't seen much of any taijutsu skills of his.

Obito's kamui allows him to evade and dodge most assaults. Without the MS granted technique though, he fell to Kakashi in a simple duel of taijutsu and kunai.

Restricted to just the 3 tomoe sharingan, Itachi and Obito don't perform so great. Madara and Sasuke make out alright.

^^Obito's the worst of the 4 main uchihas when it comes to pure taijutsu/kenjutsu/bukijutsu(kamui excluded of course.) Even at the 3 tomoe level, itachi's genjutsu is extremely powerful. His taijutsu is also at a high level, as he kept up with KCM Naruto(albeit a weaker version due to clones) and Killer Bee simultaneously.(Bee needed to be warned of Itachi's presence by itachi.) As for Sasuke and Madara, they do fight in a similar manner,but sasuke's tends to rely on his raiton moves(at the 3 tomoe level) and kenjutsu, whereas madara relies on his massive katons and gunbai.

it's my personal belief that hyuga awaken byakugan more often than the uchiha awaken sharingan, it's harder to do. Look at Sasuke who went through all kinds of messed up things, he got 3T by 13, but he also is an uchiha with as much potential as Uchiha Madara, the average uchiha are good to be superior but i think the thing that really matters is what ratio of the Uchiha clan has the sharingan and we're going to be having 0T, 1T, 2T, 3T sharingan users, not just people with 3T
