Amaterasu spawning infront of a non moving Raikage was nothing other than plot to showcase Raikages speed by Kishi. It has been shown even in the Danzo fight that Amaterasu can form on it's opponent.

Also @Bold Amaterasu doesn't remain at the same distance when something is blocking the users sight. When it comes to an object that is blocking his line of sight it burns that object. It should not continue to burn behind the object, for he can not see behind it. If it could remain at the same distance when consistently used then the rule for it igniting only what's in the users line of sight would have never been created.

No matter what angle he was at, At some point Itachi and the spikes would be blocking his view of the ground he ignited. He should not have been able to make a circle like that with the info we know.

He ignited the tips of the spikes. The bases of the spikes remained perfectly fine.

It's a jutsu of the eye not the brain. The fire just spawns according to how focused the eye is. Doesn't matter if something is covering the eye. The only reason it happened is because Sasuke spun so fast his eye didn't have time to shorten its focus to Itachi or the pillars.
Yeah, if you got him to stare at Itachi and try to spawn it behind him he wouldn't be able to do it. It's only because he spun so fast

That's like saying if he is consistently streaming amaterasu from his eye and somebody puts a wall in his way he would still be able to stream amaterasu behind the wall because he didn't focus on the wall. We know that to be bull.

Because it's stated to ignite things in his line of sight and if he can't see through a wall then he can't ignite what's behind it.

Does the fire travel from the eye to the spawn point? No. So why would a wall prevent it? The only thing the wall does is prevent the eye from focusing behind it. But if he were to focus at a point in the distance beside the wall, then spin really quickly while continually spawning amaterasu, the spawn point would drift behind the wall, then hit the wall at the exact moment that sasuke's eye finishes refocusing.

The point is that if he can spin his body faster than the speed of his eye muscles, the spawn point will simply move in accordance with the eye's focus at each point in time.

Itachi is actually higher up than you think in that panel. Sasuke just spun around.
