what has kakashi been doing all these years?

i mean he started of as a prodigy,became jounin at a very young age, invented chidori and was just awesome. Now roughly 14 years later at the start of part one he was like 26 i believe. And almost lost to zabuza (a mid-jounin),if it wasn't for two genin named Naruto and Sasuke. he finally pulled of a victory but was hospitalized for over a week.. Sometime later he lost to itachi who maked him kneel with just a single stare, his overal progression was minimal in all these years. it wasn't untill shippuuden that he gained some decent stamina and with kamui became a kage level shinobi in my opinion. what do you think about this? has he been trolled or what?

He was trolled horribly by Kishi and was only being used for gauging other characters' power (Naruto, Kakuzu, Pain, etc.). Then during the War Arc he gained crazy power-ups to stay in the game against bigger jutsu users. It's all due to plot.

Theres no such thing as 1000 times, he improved only little bit. Even 8 gates is only 100 times boost

You are wrong sometimes, it's way harder to fight when you have to babysitting others like he did against Zabuza.And don't underate Zabuza, he tried to kill Mizukage if i remember.He was very dangerous.Also Kakashi said that he was out of shape in this fight.Zabuza aimed for Tazuna and made Kakashi interfering and trapped him.Using weak first to trap the strongest.

To be honnest Kakashi had always the hardest fight in the series because he always had somoene to babysitting.He lost to Itachi because he was a new vilain in the serie just like (Deva path) because there is no chance for him to win only with 3T sharingan vs MS Itachi.

against Zabuza -> babysitting team 7 + Tazuna
against Itachi -> babysitting Kurenai and Asuma even thought he'd still lost to MS Itachi in part 1.
against Kabuto -> babysitting Sasuke
against Deidara -> babysitting team Gai and Naruto
against Kakuzu & Hidan -> babysitting team 10
against Pein -> babysitting the whole Akimichi clan

If you look all his fights you'll noticed the amazing improvement after each fights.Against Zabuza he was out of chakra after using only 2 suiton and few sharingan, then after each fight he keep improved because he trained too like after the "fight" against Kabuto or in timeskip.His chakra reserve are pretty good now because his sharingan seems to get used to his body after each fights (current war he fought for almost 2 days with sharingan).Th other reason is that he has one of the best chakra control which permit him to fight longer and use more chakra at less cost, and also all his experiences since part 1 made him increase his spiritual energy which increased his chakra too.

We didn't see Kakashi training a lot but he did because we see the improvements like after timeskip.

don't you DARE underestimate kakashi. Read my thread, it says that he is always a baby sitter (baby sitting squad seven vs zabuza, baby sitting sasuke when faced by orochimaru, baby sitting kurenai when fighting itachi, baby sitting squad ten vs kakuzu, baby sitting choji vs pain), he has it rough. he is great at team work

That's what he's best at! Is to babysit! 1 vs 1 is not his thing, thats what kishi saying, but he can solo obito only high difficulty

no the reason why u ask this question is because u put him too high, your expectations were too high, kakashi was powerful then but he ran up against some people who were his level or above his level like itachi was above kakashi's level during part 1 but i think u expected too much of badassery from him at that time and because of that u underestimated his opponents that whooped his ass like he did which is why u are asking this question...

He's done well, after all he is a jounin. When you compare him to the other jounin, he's golden.
Yes, he has been spamming kamui, but that was all due to plot so that he would remain relevant and actually put up a fight in the war arc. (Not hating, js.)
But now he's going blind in his sharingan eye, and after the war arc he'll most likely never use kamui again, or just have inadequate usage of it.
