Shippuden Animation

I think I'm against the grain here.. Actually 100% positive I am with saying this, but I don't actually find the animation in Shippuden to be that bad. I actually like I more most of the time than in part one, with how much more soft the colors are instead of bright and vibrant. And the animation just seems more smooth most of the time.

Yeah, there's episodes that are bad (ie. most of the Pain fight and mostly just Pain himself). But I just can't see why people find Shippuden to be so horribly atrocious. Hell most of part one isn't as great as people make it out to be. The only real thing it had going was how smooth the animation was overall, well when compared to some episodes in Shippuden (many that I've seen look like they're done in Adobe Flash). But color and art style just looks better to me in Shippuden.

Maybe I haven't seen enough of it to hate it? Meaning every single episode. I dunno, but it's not the atrocity that everyone makes it out to be in my opinion. So, what's it that people hate so much about it? Is it the actual animation? Or is it how smooth it is? I'm actually really curious to know because I want a different perspective and something to look out for when I watch.

Most of the big fights have amazing animation, the only problem is that for the animators only see Naruto's and Sasuke's fights as big fights

What can I say, It is not like the animations are bad, but compared to some other anime like Shingeki no Kyojin, it is straight up bad.

THAT! That's the only thing that gets me! Naruto rakes in SO much money, yet the animation doesn't reflect that at all. I don't think it's bad, but I definitely could see it being better overall.

I can agree with this. Not bad for what it is, but with the money Naruto pulls in and especially when compared to other shows, it's not the best at all. I've seen shows with way worse budgets and fame that have crazy good animation.

Also out of curiosity, has the same studio been animating Naruto all along? I'm guessing no with the switch in style of the animation and such, but again, just curious. And if not, who was animating them before. Also I know other factors play in, such as who the hire to animate an episode or two.

Its not bad. But if you compare it with Attack on Titan or the Berserk Movies....it doesn't look that good.

Then again Attack on Titan is only 25 Eps long and the next season probably also. Naruto is a very long Manga it would be Impossible(Budget wise) to have every Episode look like a Movie.

I just like the fluidity of things a bit more in Shippuden I suppose. And I don't think the Madara vs. the SA to be all that bad, espeically with how fast that all went down.

What's I find kinda funny about how not so good the Pain and Madara fights are is the the guy/guys(?) who animated them are the ones who also animated one of the best fights in the series (in my opinion of course), the Naruto vs. Sasuke fight at the VOTE.

That's why I think people say Naruto should take a break, instead of giving us fillers and such, so then more episodes can look better.

Shippuden's animation can be beautiful and it can be terrible. Jiraiya vs Pain looked amazing and so did Sasuke vs Itachi. I think the animation really got bad during the War Arc though. It looked like the animators kept taking shortcuts.

If it were a series that was all about a cool story or something, the poor animation could've been accepted. But seriously, it has to make up whatever it doesn't have in a good story with some good animation maybe.

Shippuden's animation can be beautiful and it can be terrible. Jiraiya vs Pain looked amazing and so did Sasuke vs Itachi. I think the animation really got bad during the War Arc though. It looked like the animators kept taking shortcuts.

Those were such good fights and they looked great nearly all throughout.

Man, I hope they don't keep it up then... Especially since we're about to get to some of the most action packed parts of the series. And I especially don't want them to mess up with all the Hokage returning parts.

You notice it in the lesser fights, and mass people scenes.. the holding still too stare at each others endlessly. flying through the air from "Branch to branch" ..yick.

Yeah, that's good to take into consideration. And definitely the skimp on lesser episodes, which makes tons of sense, but it shouldn't be all that necessary, but oh well. I'm still happy with what is given.

Personally, I mainly read the manga for the art and story and such, and watch the episodes because, well they're something I enjoy throughout my boring week. But also for the fights (the big ones that is). I enjoy seeing them animated.
