A:Be asleep
B: Be relaxing/chilling out and not kneading chakra.

Trust me, obito and itachi could wipe out any clan in konoha with a sneak attack in the dead of night.

They are 2 kage level shinobi. Of course they wouldn't have a difficult time. There could have been some fireballs but the Anbu knew what was happening and so they kept it silent.

Remember we are talking about ninja and not civilians. The Uchiha were considered among the elite clans in Konoha. They were composed of Konoha's Police Force. There is no way all of them were simply murdered in their sleep unaware.

Also we saw Sasuke coming home late from school. The timing on that is never stated. However I doubt it was past midnight. I don't even think it was past 10pm when Sasuke arrived home.


I was thinking maybe Fugaku had given command for his fellow clan members to not resist and accept their fate. Fugaku had planned a coup and was caught before he could execute it. Maybe one of the reasons he let Itachi kill him without offering resistance; was because he wanted to regain some honor (planning a coup and seeking to insight war against his village and countrymen being dishonorable) by taking the quiet dignified death at the hands of his son.

Yeah Obito using kamui on the Uchiha as other people have suggested makes the most sense. It would explain all the spare Sharingan he had. It may also explain where Danzo received the ones for his arm. Obito/Madara and Danzo had some sort of rapport with one another. Maybe Obito gave Danzo some sharingan from the corpses of the Uchiha.

Irrespective of what sasuke said(he was still a kid)-it's obvious it was an assassination, not a direct fight. I really doubt that itachi could fight every uchiha clan member(even with obito's help) directly and live to tell the tale. Furthermore, there was no destruction in the surroundings-which indicates that little resistance was offered and they were caught off guard. And not every uchiha was a ninja-there were obviously civillians amongst them.(like that guy who owned that shop-forgot his name.)
