I think he was already going blind in Shippuden, because when he fought Itachi he remarked that he knew the MS rendered the user blind. It's reasonable to deduce Kakashi recognized his vision was being affected.

Yes but the point of the discussion is that if he had already experienced sight loss that early in shippuden, then he certainly should have become blind at this point. He has been spamming the ability like crazy in the war and even before it. The fact that he just now mentions it after all this time does not make sense.

One possibility is that he never suffered sight loss when he spoke to Itachi. He could have simply read the Uchiha tablet with his Sharingan to learn the secret of the MS and its affects.

Kishi warps logic when need be, but that idea is out there for me.

And what were you expecting? Kakashi revealing his weakness in front of his enemies? Come on, that would be bad writting, don't you think?

A good shinobi NEVER reveals their jutsus or weakness in front of others. Doing so would be bad writting... if Kakashi did this time, it was because they were collecting information for a quick strategy, it was necessary.

Don't you wonder how could Kakashi question Itachi about his eyesight side-effects?

...so, as an advice, I would recommend to collect every detail of the manga before doing reckless criticism. Those "everyone saying why he hasn't gone blind yet" are just people who failed to read the manga to its full extent, 'nuff said.

I don't know why you guys think you have such power to influence Kishi's writing to where everything he writes is considered a plot or plot armor for the fantasies NB members create.

Yeah, that's definitely one of the options. We know that the sharingan can use its true power when used together as a pair. If Obito gives Kakashi his remaining eye, it would give kakashi and true EMS, which would reveal the true power of the sharingan.

Here's what I think can happen:

1) Obito gives his remaining sharingan to Kakashi, to form a single EMS. This will give Kakashi much better use of Kamui, to make him much stronger
2) Obito will use his Rinnegan to perform Rinne Tensei, to bring back all the allied forces that died during the war.
3) Obito will die, redeemed as a hero.

Except you dont get EMS from having two of the same sharingan, it comes from replacing your eyes with a siblings' who has sharingan.
