Sasuke was traumatized by Itachi.
Naruto grew up alone, hated, shunned, and beat up.
Naruto has never even had any discipline.
Yet Naruto has never let those things define him.
Naruto has overcome all obstacles whereas Sasuke gives in to emotions and clings to the past.
Naruto will overcome anything and therefore Naruto has a higher level of consciousness.

They both had a pretty much harsh child hood and many people would argue one is sadder or more powerful then the other. I choose Naruto. Not only did he have a worse child hood but he never had a family, he never felt love or longed to anyone. Unlike sasuke he was loved and cared for till the age of 5 or what ever... Even after the uchiha massacre people around him tried to help, make him feel good, loved, belonged... Like friends.

Even so they both grew and faced many hurdles, however Naruto never fell into his emotions and acted out accordingly, whole sasuke let the emotions get to him and take over. Also for those who say something like sasuke was tortured... Ammm Naruto has a demon within him!! :/

He was a kid and he needed a goal to work for.
People need goals to do great things.
Naruto has obviously not let his relationship with his dad hold him back.
If Sasuke wants to be anything good then he must overcome the past.
It appears Sasuke is finally trying now which makes me happy, even if kishi is forcing everything.

The point is it doesn't matter how horrible it was, they should overcome the barriers.
Even if it's harder for Sasuke that just makes it a bigger accomplishment.
