Hiruzen is a bad sensei because of how he trained his students. He focused much on Orochimaru and Jiraiya that he forgot all about training Tsunade. Just look at Tsunade, she's completely worthless compared to Jiraiya and Orochimaru. Simply put, Hiruzen never taught Tsunade how to be useful.

Tsunade has the Senju clan as her ancestors. She's talented for sure, but after her lover and brother died she wasted her talent. Orochimaru and Jiraya both became sages and are easily Kage level without sage mode.

The fudge. Tsunade is on equal grounds with Jiraiya and Orochimaru. The fight against Madara should have made you realize that already.
I'd actually say Tsunade beats Jiraiya more times than the other way.

Pretty much every sensei so far with a three-man squad has had one student they cared about/paid attention to more than the others:

Kakashi with Sasuke. Jiraiya with Minato and later Nagato. Gai with Lee. Hiruzen with Orochimaru. Asuma and Shikamaru. Even Kurenai and Hinata, to a degree.

Minato seemed to care about all of his students, but he loses sensei points for letting two of them die :devil:
