Story Synopsis:
In a high school where students possess uniforms that give them various powers and abilities, student council president Kiryuuin Satsuki rules by force. However, a transfer student named Matoi Ryuuko stands in her way, wielding a scissor sword and a superpowered school uniform.

Ryuuko Matoi (纏 流子)Ryuuko Matoi is a 17-year-old who transfers as a second-year student into Honnouji Academy, an Academy ruled by power and authority. She wields a huge single-bladed scissor, and demands to know the owner of the second half. As she remembers, the wielder of the lost half of the scissor blade is the same person who killed her father.

Satsuki Kiryuuin (鬼龍院 皐月)Satsuki Kiryuuin is an 18-year-old woman and the Student Council President of Honnouji Academy. She rules the school with an iron fist and assesses the students' abilities, holding the position/authority to assign the powerful Ultima Uniforms. She does not wear a Goku Uniform, stating that her sword, "Bakuzan" is more than enough power and protection.

Senketsu (神衣・鮮血)A living sailor uniform Ryuuko finds beneath her house. Senketsu is a Kamui (神衣 lit. "God Clothes"), an outfit that provides its wearer with godlike abilities in exchange for their blood. He has the power to transform into an indestructible suit of armor, albeit with a skimpy appearance, much to Ryuuko's embarrassment. His name, given to him by Ryuuko, literally means "fresh blood."

Mako Mankanshoku (満艦飾 マコ)A second year student who is quite attached to Ryuko.Because rank in the school determines ones living conditions, Mako resides in the poorer "slums" of the city with her mother, father (who is a back alley doctor), and her delinquent younger brother.Mako is a very energetic lady, opting to greet people with an affectionate dive into them.
