So last chapter Usopp over came his fears and proceeded to take on sugar and trebol. What do u all think about this? Has he been redeemed? I personally do not like Usopp much so my opinion is somewhat biased but i really would like to hear what the rest of the fandom thinks.

No

Here is the thing i won't ever expect Usopp to lose erm his erm....''Usopp-Like'' persona if you will.

I want him to always be somewhat of a coward etc etc

Before you go crazy let me explain myself:

I want Usopp to be at the point where he is a walking conundrum

Cowardly, but the drop of a hat will do everything and anything to protect those he cares about

Running away from Robin like that was a big deal, and im sure Oda knew it

I expected him to have a change of heart either way. Not for a second did I believe he truly would leave them behind, so I can't really say he redeemed himself as he did what I expected of him. I'm still a bit annoyed that he ran away with the full intention of leaving them behind. Even knowing that the would turn back, because it's his dream to become brave and the timeskip should have made him grow up a bit, I personally think he shouldn't have run away in the first place. Unlike before he now also has some real firepower.

He didn't had to be all overconfident saying he's going to beat the crap out of Trebol, I would have been satisfied if he just had hidden himself not knowing what to do and then appear when the dwarves started their cries. That would have indicated Usopp really had grown as pre timeskip Usopp would have turned around too after those cries. IMO this scene is quite important for Usopp's character development.

He better make Trebol go true some serious pain though >.>

Nope, he needs to defeat at least one Trebol or Sugar. HE MUST complete the plan of Kyros! U_U

Also, guys who's to say the fight won't get interrupted . Its a possibility :hint:

I knew he'd come back. That's what he always does. I really hope he either stops being a coward or goes Sogeking.

Ussop as a character has never really appealed to me although I love it when he comes back all heroic :3
My opinion never really changes in him though unless he does something really cowardly to p*ss me off.

I don't think anybody truly believed that Usopp would leave them behind at the end. It was one of Usopp's typical reactions where he runs away and then has a change of heart and comes back. I don't think there's a matter of redemption here.
I am a bit disappointed though, as I expected more from him. I thought after the timeskip he would have improved and he wouldn't need to hear his friends/allies suffering to decide to aid them.
