as the 2nd said shadow clones were created to counter the sharingan what if sage mode was a counter to ms? Alot of people who fought uchihas or are going to(naruto vs sasuke) have sage mode. What if it was the senju ancestors way of being more equal with his brother and then sage mode was passed down from generation to generation? Also i believe naruto learned sage mode right before or after sasuke gets ms which could mean something.

Sage Mode could be taken as the interpretation of the "Body" of the sage. As is clear, a usual person can't handle sage mode (Jiraya, Orochimaru) and need help to maintain it.

I don't think he was a Sage in the sense that he could utilize natural energy..I think he was a sage in the sense that he was wise and experienced

Jman could handle it, he just needed Help going into and Staying into the mode. Naruto cannot stay in it for long and he is a "Perfect Sage mode user". Oru can handle it, he just cannot go into it-in the sense; does not have a body that can maintain it.

Actually base Hashirama was handling EMS Madara just fine, he wasn't fighting to kill and was trying to talk Madara down, then when he saw it was no use he went SM to end it which he did. Also you should take in the fact that Hashirama had Bijuus 2-8 under his control, he was already Hokage when he fought Madara and a Hokage can't leave the village so he had to of hand them pre-Hokage and he got Kurama after beating Madara then gave away the other Bijuus after that.

The fact that Hashirama choose to go SM instead of using his Bijuus should tell you Hashirama was enough for Madara and Kurama, had Madara been a Jinchuuriki would be another story. Hashirama already beat EMS before they made Konoha remember? Madara needed to go get Kurama for the rematch.

Actually Madara needed Kurama to make Hashirama go SM he already lost to base Hashirama with his EMS pre-Konoha. Anyways, SM increased the stats of the ninja's base stats so if their boase is highly skilled then SM will further increase that. The SM abilities and jutsus Naruto got does counter Sasuke's MS jutsus, SM senses Amaterasu to evade as he did with the 3rd Raikage, Frog song will paralyze Sasuke and take down Susanoo (Kabuto's sound genjutsu did and frog song not only paralyze the body but also the mind) and Sasuke can't defend from frog kummit since the Sharingan can't see natural energy to evade it.
