Does anyone else think it's funny that Gai's dad's name is Dai?

First off, he have Konoha's Green Beast, Might Guy. He's literally a mighty guy, who has all 5s for speed, power, stamina, and taijutsu.

Then we have his dad, Might Dai. He's been a genin for over 20 years and is considered extremely weak by other shinobi of his time. He literally "might die" due to lacking skills and strength.

Meh people don't see the biggest miscoception here Dai had all 8 inner gates but was considered to be Gennin, then why is Gai a Jounin with same powers like his father in his time? Perhaps the recognition of the potential of 8 inner gate users that occurred as time progressed?

Or rather the Konoha ranking system changed as time progressed since they allowed Lee to graduate even if he couldn't do ninjutsu

The 'eternal gennin' who alone fought 7 elite swordsmen and probably even killed some of them...
The status doesn't matter at all... He was a noble man who brought up Guy, the man who's now sacrificing his own life for the sake of the shinobi world.
And the flashback was absolutely necessary for Guy's character development.
