zetsu is a member of the akatsuki and is present as much as anyone else he could be a part of the group that is not in a astral projection form but is actually there physically and itachi is smart enough and has been around them long enough to knw who can do what and how they do it, so im sure as well planned as itachi is he would knw to only strike when zetsu is physically there, and u arelooking at this one sided, u have to think about how obito really ran the show and how he could have had itachi killed but didnt even attempt to despite knowing why itachi was there in the akatsuki in the first place...think about it...

People seem to judge Nagato's ability to his limitations in utilizing multiple Pein bodies, such as; ST lapse, ST power, etc. in fact, his of "power" was due to having his chakra divided into 7 individuals.

ST consumes the most chakra for Nagato, which requires the most focus the reason for the lapse and its range in power. Ex) after using ultimate ST Konan commented on Nagato's chakra level. Ex) ST has shown different power scales.

Ultimately, what I'm saying is Nagato in his prime defeats all standard base shinobi, that includes Ems Madara, hokages, etc. He NEVER had the intent to kill nor was EVER defeated.

Nagato was never shown to his true power and ultimate ST trashes mostly all techniques

you know obito beat him to get him to join the akatsuki so that would mean obito > nagato and if nagato is the strongest then obito is the strongest in the show

BTW his "prime" is the peak/a time that EXISTED where he was on top of his game/full mastery of the Rinnegan/good health condition, so if by "Prime" you mean a mobile Nagato with mastery over the Rinnegan then that never existed (and if it did he would still loose to the likes of Madara/Hashirama).
