Alright alright alright, before I start this one off I just want everyone to know that this is not what I hope happens. I just have a strong feeling kishi may take the story down this way.

So here it is, Naruto won't become hokage!

Okay lets think, what happened between Madara and Hashirama? Madara wanted to become hokage for his clan. That didn't happen, and now madara is the ultimate villain of naruto. Then out of nowhere, sasuke decides he also wants to become hokage. Well that cant happen because naruto has hyped up being hokage since the beginning. If this were the case though, whose to say history wouldn't just be repeating itself. Maybe the only way for peace between the two clans, between naruto and sasuke, and between the two sons of s6op is if Naruto gives up his dream and hands over the title to sasuke.

I agree with you; that's how it SHOULD end, logically, if Naruto wants to avoid even the slightest emergence of more hatred in Sasuke's heart, now that he too wants to become Hokage.

But sadely, logic is dead in the NV.

This is all assuming they don't die, and Madara is defeated, however.

You know, I read in an interview somewhere a long time ago, that Kishi had always had the idea of making Sasuke Hokage.
I don't think he will become Hokage though. He was an international criminal and the Raikage hates him. That would be bad news for Konoha's political relations with the other nations.
I think he'll become Naruto's right hand man...or maybe the equivalent of Danzo for Hiruzen.
I doubt that everyone will forgive that easily. At least I hope so. The ninja of Konoha must have some sense, right?

Madara did want to be Hokage, the Villagers wanted Hashirama for the Hokage role but he wanted Madara and he didn't accept.
Considering all the things that Sasuke did as a rogue i think it's best for him to start his own village and have his group ( Karin, Suigetsu, Jugo, Orochimaru, Kabuto ) helping him run it. He can still have close relations with Naruto such as an alliance if Naruto does become Hokage which is highly possible.
