Amaterasu is stronger than your average everyday Katon, so using that as a comparison is ridiculous. Furthermore, Amaterasu might not be known to be fast at burning, but it is still fast at hitting it's target. It doesn't have to necessarily burn fast, but just hit the target fast. Can you keep up with me?
Also, Kisame hasn't the strength or power to break V2 Susano'O. Suiton is countered by Raiton.

The heat from Amaterasu can create the cumulonimbus clouds to form in the air thus having the necessary preparations to activate Kirin. Also if Sasuke keeps his distance and uses Amaterasu then it's a clear win.

Amaterasu burns kisame to a crisp in an instant. A FOCUSED amaterasu burns at an alarming rate. It's only when the flames are left alone(when the user isnt looking) that it burns slowly. Sasuke stomps kisame with either genjutsu, amaterasu or kirin.(although the latter would only occur if the fight happened in a thunderstorm.)
