Based on Rikudou Madara's chikara, Gai cannot touch him with 8th gates.

With the progressive evolvements of Sharingan from 1 tomoa right down to Rinnegan, it allows the user to read movements well, well, well, well in advance. It is especially effective against Taijutsu where kid Sasuke was able to read kid Naruto's 3 tails chakra mode during their battle at the Valley of Death.

Now with Madara having these powers:

1. 10 tails chakra (The ultimate speed booster. Think of the speed Naruto has with 9 tails chakra, he was able to match Raikage);

2. Hashirama's sage mode (allows Madara to sense danger and faster reflexes. Recall how SM Naruto was able to injure Raikage's dad); and

3. Rinnegan (The ultimate eyes to read physical movements).

With these powers, there is no way a taijutsu like 8th gate could injure Madara. Right? And Gai forgets Madara can heal himself.

I agree....imho Gai still should not even be able to touch Madara. Though I feel Kishi isn't keen on gaps in power between characters. This would mean the cumulative power of each gigantic tailed-beast, Madaras SM, EMS, Rinnegan, PS, etc. These things combined don't hold the power to defeat any and everything. A high level Jounin/temporary Hokage level Shinobi at that.

After Madara already defeated two Hokage level Shinobi without the Juubi. Gai....imo regardless of him giving his life in the 8th gate still should be childs play to Madara. I mean 7th gate was easily cut down in an instant. 8th gate probably makes him about 10xs stronger? I'd say around there.....but Kishi is going to let Gai do what I believe he should not be able to imo.

In the 8th gate I feel Madara should still be 100xs stronger and faster than Gai. Although....I have to accept Kishi in the end, it is his story. So o guess I'll just enjoy it, but this is just my thoughts on Gai.

I think he may damage him, but under no circumstances is Gai going to defeat Madara. Just because, hes not a main character, I'm not even sure he is supporting, maybe.
