Kakashi wins mid difference most. The shadow technique lacks speed for someone like Kakashi. All he has to do is dodge the Shadow Line and proceed in for the kill . It's just that simple. He eluded a large scale Fuuton Attack from the mask and then cancelled another mask's Raiton Attack. Hidan was dodging both the Shadow Technique and engaging in battle with Azuma as well. It's not all that's made to be.

I cannot see Kakashi losing. He's also smart, so that also is a factor.

Very true. I didn't rule out Kakashi's intellect but you remember that Shikamaru overwhelms in quantity of plans along with the quality of them right? Especially with his dad his battle plan is one trick after another, with Hidan and Kakazu they actually tried out about 4 pre-laid plans to take them out and eventually whittled them down. Kakashi showed surprise and was impressed when Shikamaru went through their pre-plans on how to take out the duo- which shows that Kakashi is very smart but not to the degree to escape all of their intellect.

I do agree Kakashi is very battle-intelligent though, but just as you can't rule out Kakashi bc of he's not dumb, you also can't rule out that the Nara duo because of their powers. They are hardly weak pushovers themselves, they just suffer from chakra and can't afford an all-out combat battle. Even without a plan i'm sure they could counter or catch a Kakashi strike in a shadow possession. So absolutes don't apply.

^ Yes, both of them are quite intelligent, but one has to remember that they lack the skill repertoire. You have given prep time, but S + S won't be the only one to utilize it. Kakashi can use Genjutsu as well, as that is not ruled out here. Yes, there is a possibility that they can catch Kakashi, no doubt, but he just seems too fast in my opinion. And speed is a huge factor here.

My two cents.

Fair analysis, personally I think the two of them can boobytrap the forest beyond repair, and Kakashi's speed is fast but quite a few of his techs take a bit of cast time, leaving open a huge window to trap or capture. The usual tricks Shika plays on the likes of Tayuya and Hidan won't work on Kakashi but considering Shika's brain alone can think up about 100 different strategies in a couple of seconds, combined with his dad and all the added posibilities with a duo you'll need a much more resilient or hacked ninja than Kakashi to survive all the layers of plans. That's my opinion though.

The huge weakness about Nara is that they have to be still while they perform shadow techniques which leaves a great opening for Kakashi to use Raiju Hashiri (Lightning Beast Running Technique) which they won't have much time to jump out of the way because they are going to be trying to perform a shadow technique. This will easily kill them seeing as the dogs will chase them.

Wait, is booby trap setting included in prep time? If so, then Team one's chances definitely increase.

His stamina is an issue, so yeah, I agree with that part. Resilience is not Kakashi's forte.

Kakashi uses lightning blade thus changing the lighting in the area, in effect changing the direction of the shadows. Then he kills them.

10 minutes isn't much.

Not a lot for normal people but Shikamaru alone can think up 100 strategies in a few minutes. Also considering the familiar battleground i'm sure him and his father already have general strategies from prior knowledge. This if anything gives Kakashi a succinct disadvantage against the two.
