Why would any Uchiha use the Izanami.

One of the ultimate Dojutsus of the Uchiha clan. Why would any Uchiha want to use the Izanami unless they genuinely cared about their comrades? Izanami basically makes an individual reflect on their own actions and make them realize that they are not on the right path. Most of the Uchiha were hungry for power and the sacrifice of a Sharingan is a grave price to pay just to rescue someone when you can just kill them instead.

I honestly think that hardly any Uchiha used the izanami apart from a select few that had the right ideals. The cost of a Sharingan just to help someone? Why would they not just kill them and end it then and there...

The jutsu was never meant to be used in a fight since it leaves an opponet with a chance to escape. That's why it was forbbiden in the first place. You saying that it's easier to just kill them is just stupid. u.u

EH? Where the hell did you get that from? It's forbidden because it gives them a chance to escape? That's the dumbest thing I've heard, when they escape Izanami they're not the same way as they were before. That's the whole point in the jutsu... The point I'm trying to make is that hardly any Uchiha would cast Izanami unless they actually cared about their clan members which is like 1 in a million.

It's simple kishi wanted to make kabuto a good person so he gave the uchiha a jutsu to do that also without izanami itachi would stand no chance against kabuto.

Not really torture when a fight is being repeated and the person it was cast on is not actually getting hurt irl. Kabuto is thankful for the technique and realizes that he needs to be himself and not emulate other individuals to such extreme extents. It's more like therapy.

Well in this case of Itachi/Sasuke vs Kabuto, it was more like "Shit, not gonna win. Better troll him so Sasuke doesn't die."

Itachi didn't care what happened to Kabuto. I doubt he even knows of Kabuto's back story to even want to change him.

Itachi did want to help Kabuto, considering that he said that he wished for Kabuto to stop being someone he is not. Itachi doesn't need to know about Kabuto's entire life in order to know what his problem was. Kabuto stole other people's DNA and even said that he was changing himself to be like them because his original self is inadequate. That is a blaring indicator. Itachi stated that he wanted to help him and that it was possible that Izanami could save him. And it did. Sasuke even wanted to kill Kabuto after he was caught in Izanami but Itachi told him not to for the aforementioned reason.

ot: No. Majority of Uchiha would not use Izanami, majority care about themselves more than their comrades, or just don't care enough about their comrades to help them in that way. The only ones who would use it are probably Itachi and Kagami/Shisui if they knew about the technique.
