Gai - Dai question! What is the difference?

Kakashi and Yamato told on Naruto once when they trained him, that a Jounin level ninja must have at least 2 chakra types what he/she can use properly (combat type ninjas - not medical ninjas)... (Ironically Naruto also has only wind...)
Dai was an eternal Genin because his inability to use ninjitsu and genjitsu...
Gai is also unable use them, and he only uses Taijutsu, then how he became Jounin?
Can he do something exclude kicking and the 8 Gates?

He can use them, which is how used summoning jutsu.

Gai uses yang chakra, because of his tai jutsu, and stamina releasing is probably considered a chakra type

Maybe they changed the rule for Gai because his father showed great strength against the 7 Ninja swordsmen? Just a guess.

@bold, that isn't exactly the case dude. I'm pretty sure he said most Jounin usually have proficient use in two elemental ninjutsu, but it's not a requirement to have the rank of Jounin.
