Okay, almost everyone here is raging about how they thought todays chapter was bad because of the flashbacks...
smh..
You all act like you REALLY didnt know that it was gonna be like that. We all know how hyped and foreshadowed the 8th and final gate has always been, we all know that upon release means certain death. We all know that BEFORE a major character is killed, or is at a major turning point in the series, there is ALWAYS a series of flashbacks showing why the character is the way they are. It happened with EVERY SINGLE main character who has died, had a major battle, or etc. Its called, "build up." raising excitement for what is to come, So why is it now that Gai is facing death, and has a flashback, everyone is like, "I MAD." when you had a WHOLE week to anticipate this, heck, if you have been reading the manga, then you should have been expecting this a LOOONG time ago.
Point is nobody should be upset and crying. Next week, the fight will resume (hopefully.) I admit, I was looking forward to seeing Gai last more than a second against Madara, but honestly, I choose story over action anyday. Good things about this chapter; we got to see Gai's father, we got to see what Gai was like as a kid, we see that Gai suffered the same trauma as Lee being unable to use ninjutsu and genjutsu which explains why Gai was so attached to Lee and why Gai has never shown to use ANYTHING other than Taijutsu. We see how the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist were disbanded with the only survivors being the fat guy and the twin blade. We got to see Gai finally actvate the final gate, death gate.
The bad; Minato still muttering useless chatter, no real character development for anyone else, no story progression, huge cliffhanger.
Suck it up people..last I checked, nobody is forcing you to pay to read the manga, nor is anyone forcing you to read it. The scans are FREE...be greatful that the internet still allows this kind of thing. People these days feel like they are entitled to everything they want. Get that ish out of here.
