Now, we all know where the show takes place, where all the Villages on, ect...
However, is the rest of the world even mentioned?
Here is what we know so far:

By the looks of it, it's the North West section of a Continent, let's just say Asia.
Now, what happens with the rest of the..let's call it Earth. What's with the rest of the Earth?
Are there more Continents? Are they Shinobi in those Continents? What's their view on having a tiny section of the Earth fighting to save it?

Or, are all of the Human Beings just centered in that area? If that is true, then the Villages are extremely over populated!
How do they feed everyone?

Or, is the land of the Shinobi secluded from the rest of the world, preserved in a time where Shinobi are still used?
That would explain the random bits of technology here and there?

What do you guys think?

All the other countries can't use ninjutsu if we go with the good tree stuffff.
Maybe Lee is a foreigner.

This is why I feel Bleach is more real. I can relate to it more but Naruto is still a great anime. But yeah I like the last one on you're list.

There is one European-esque place where they had no idea what ninjutsu was. I think it was the third movie.

Well yeah, speaking about movies, I guess the world is a little bit bigger.
Although movies are non-cannon... :I

That's true :/ but I still think that the rest of NV aren't ninjas and live normal lives with more modern technology

It's a eurocentric map. Kishi basically made South East Asia and instead of it being islands he pushed Japan/Phillipenes/India and ect together. The sand village is basically Southwest Asia, Middle East(ie Saudi Arabia when you look at the map). Then look at the clothes they wear and the desert conditions.

If you know geography it's not hard to tell which countries are which parts of SW Asia and SE Asia.

Just like Europeans make maps with Europe as the center and Americans with the Americas as the center. Kishi is an Asian writer, it only makes sense.

They could do that @Siege, that would be actually interesting.
A unstoppable threat comes from the West, and the Shinobi Alliance must team up to fight!

Of course, before Madara...Or else Naruto stomps everything and everyone.

The Naruto world geographically mirrors that of Awaji-shima and Shikoku Island in Japan:

The Great Naruto Bridge in part 1 is based on the real life Naruto Bridge that connects the two islands.

Uzu no Kuni aka the Land of Whirlpools was based on the legendary island of Onogoro that was created with the divine naginata
Ame-non-uboko, from which the Sage's sword Nunoboko was directly inspired from. Onogoro Island is traditionally found in the Naruto Whirlpools, for when the divine couple Izanagi and Izanami dipped Ame-non-uboko into the water, its stirring formed the whirlpools and from this whirlpools rose Onogoroshima which became the new home of the creator spouse when they relocated from Heaven to Earth.
