Itachi doesn't even need Izanami to defeat Minato.

He just needs to not be sick. And have killing intent. And be alive. And Minato needs both arms. And to be alive as well.

Well, in a fight between Minato and Itachi, I don't think Itachi would have to resort to using the Izanami technique.
If push comes to shove however, I really don't know what Minato would have to accept.

J-man was the one who told his students that they were "The child of prophecy" 2 died, and Naruto was left... It even says it in the scan you provided "One of the Legendary Sannin Jiraya...Called him the Child Of Prophecy..."

I don't believe Minato ever compared himself to Naruto, the other way around actually! It would be fun to see what Minato's Izanami exit is. I know Kabuto's was that he should find out who he really was. The Uchiha's in the flashback was that Izanagi was not the answer for everything.

Maybe put him in a situation where he has to save his family over the village? Now that's a tricky one!

Minato himself knew that Naruto was the child of prophesy. Go read the attack on konoha. Naruto also knew his father didn't call himself that. Read da next few panels after this, you wld find out. Also go read when Naruto met his dad during the pain arc.
