The 7 swordsmen.....huge letdown

so i was re-watching the first season of naruto and i remembered the first time i saw zabuza i thought that the seven swordsmen would be total badasses but then they turn out to even be crappy sword users.....major letdown

You are speaking nothing but the truth, i blame this was arc for it, kishi only sped through it without enough effort to make them bad ass.
They are supposed to be the seven ninja SWORDSMEN, i was expecting badass swordplay and some jaw dropping techniques, but again Kishi and his lazy ass decided it was better to make them fodder. But lets just look at the bright side, edos are never full power, so that means that the swordsmen were far stronger than their edo incarnations, that is at least my take on it.

I think since the war arc and kishi wanting to end the manga quickly he's kinda hasn't been concentrating on the quality of characters but more on characters trolling each other

Kishi had too many battles going on at once to focus on one group of people, he was just over encumbered, bit off a little more then he could chew I guess.

Yeah, that's actually something I've been recently thinking about. When Suigetsu was going through the descriptions of the Swordsmen and their Swords, I was genuinely excited to see their styles and awesome jutsu. The whole Zabuza-Kakashi rematch was just lacking IMO, and even though I can understand Kishi wanted to move the plot along he could have at least stuck around to give the Swordsmen some character.

Kishi missed a huge chance right there. He hyped them up to be damn near Kage level, Akatsuki before Obito formed them. Then he proceeds to make them fodder who get solo'd off panel.

Well all the 7 swordsman are still powerful by part 1 standards. I dont usually watch the anime but i hope they do a better job of it, if they havent already.

Yes it's kishimotos fault because there were 7 swordsman if he would of just made it the 4 legendary swordsman of the mist it would of gone more smoothly because with 7 swordsman it's impossible to make them all badass and unique.
