This. And if he's fought someone in 8 gates before as a mortal, he'll definitely handle Gai when he's the Juubi Jin. Gai will probably buy them some time, perhps do some minor damage.

I think it's just going an insane battle, most like with both of them being on an equal level (so it seems), ending with Madara's finishing move.
I don't think Gai will get beaten easily, otherwise Kishi wouldn't be teasing the Red Beast for the last two chapters.

EDIT: I'm also prety sure it's going to put Gai back into the top ten most powerfull characters.
