[Discussion] Usop in latest chapter (740)

While it is cowardly to leave your friends to die and run away, i think it is the safest choice usop made. He simply can't take on trebol and sugar, both at the same time.
You guys must realize he is a pirate not a hero,pirates are not even supposed to be heroes, he don't give a sh!t if the whole country goes to hell, its not his problem.
Pirates are supposed to be selfish.

I say usop just shows how a person in real life would act, this was more "realistic" according to me.

I am sure if usop knew about robin he wont have backed out coz then it got personal. One simply doesnt mess with strawhats, ya know?

If this was pre-timeskip then I would say this is to be expected. But after two years of intense training, usopp should have grown some balls by now.. He seriously is a coward and its sad and makes the strawhats look weak.. I hope this arc changes his character somehow to at least be sniper-like and hide in a unknown location and snipe his enemy.

Im really disappointed in Usopp. Looks to me like his little dream is just that. If it had been Luffy, Zoro or Sanji they would've went there even if they had a Yonko up against them instead of Trebol.

Usopp is in the f'in weak trio and he's up against an enemy on the same level as Pica (who is giving !ZORO! Trouble atm) and Diamante (who is in the colosseum with Sabo the rev, Burgess the yonko commander and Barto), not to mention that a girl with one of the most haxed DFs as of now is with Trebol ... She can literally make your Nakama forget about you

Usopp is the one who represents the normal guy among the SHs, I have no idea what your standards for normal are but I imagine a normal guy who faced an f'in tank with only a sling shot would f'in run away, especially ih he didn't remember Robin

But thats not exactly what Usopp did,mhe did turn atm but EVERYONE here knows thats not how Usopp's role in the arc is gonna end

Ppl need to start reading Op for what it is, a complete story and NOT a single chapter

I think even Usopp will realize just how much he's being count on and will come through. I'm sure Oda knows how bad it looks, especially after the time skip like we all do. I'm gonna wait a few chapters before judging Usopp. I hope he doesn't rely on Sogeking since I want him to have his own bounty. Yes it looks real bad now but let's wait a little longer before crucifying Usopp :yeah:

I agree... guys Oda knows what he's doing. There's obviously a purpose to all this, we just gotta wait and see if it's justifiable or not. Don't start bashing just yet.

On the contrary, I love this. It is consistent with his character.

He hasn´t been in a situation like that in the New World. Everyone depends on him - Robin, his dwarf army, everyone. Yet he is still a big coward, who dreams of being a brave warrior. How could he change into that after two years of training? He maybe got confident, but as I said, he still isn´t brave. I would be sad if his training changed him into some unbeatable out-of-character persona. This is much more interesting - he is stronger, but still his old himself. He needs to grow up.

Now is his moment to shine. Not Sogeking´s, but his. Go there and unleash hell, my dear.
