1- He is better than Jiraya because he is a perfect sage
2- Though Minato is a perfect Sage himself, Naruto is better than Minato most likely because he kneeds the chakra faster and can maintain it longer

You people try to seek the worst in minato fans, I myself and others already said Minato's senjutsu probably isn't as good as Naruto's, which was confirmed today. However, that doesn't change the fact that Minato surpassed Jiraya and aquired perfect sage mode. It's still very useful in Minato's arsenal and he will use it if he faces an opponent worthy enough to use it against. That's all.

Maybe it could've been predicted but it was never addressed directly until today. So anyway I take back any asspull cards I gave kishi. His reason: Minato can't use sage mode in a practical manner in a fight.

Like you say, he may not have mentioned him, but it was implied and now we know he was reknown for it to the point even Kakashi knew about it. The reason behind Minato not using it in battle was already known, so nothing new as well.

Minato started gathering senjutsu on page 1. Couldn't use it until page 12 when Madara gave a long speech to Obito about being Madara.
