Hey everybody.

I don't really know how many of you like soccer or/and if yo like to watch the world cup. However, there is a possbility that some of you are planning on coming to brazil to watch it.

I have a reccomendation for you: Don't even think about coming to brazil

I could stay here all day mentioning countless problems that the country has, but I'll talk only about one: Violence.
Brazil isn't a safe country. More than 50% of our police are either corrupted or useless, and our government does nothing to solve that. As a consequence, criminals here have quite the "freedom". They don't need to cover their faces to rob a place with cameras, for exemple because the police won't search for them.

In big cities, you have fear of walkig at night, because you can easily get robbed or murdered. In here, we must walk with what we call the thief's money, that is the money that you MUST walk with in case you get robbed, because if you have nothing, they probably will kill you.

It might seem that I'm talking about regular problems. However, the probabilities and the proportions of these problems are the actual problem. With the lack of good police, situations like these happens many times in a day. You barely have any safety in here.

And the criminals are planning to steal from and kill the "gringos"(it's how brazilians call foreign people). There is a criminal "organization" that stated that "the world cup will only happen if they want it to happen". Nothing was done about it.

So, I hope this is enough to persuade whoever is thinking about coming here. If you come to brazil, you will most likely die

Please, tell all your friends and family about this. It's a friendly message. I don't want more people to get hurt.

Thanks for the attention, sorry for the long post.:Omg:

I have gone to Brazil countless times, i haven't gotten killed or robbed yet..........
Well, then I can say you were lucky, or didn't stay long enough. The probabilities are high, but not 100%.
Besides, it's thw world cup this time, The criminals will increase their actions so that they can steal from you.

I started to live in a big city last month. 1 week and a half after I got there, a criminal with a gun entered the bus I was in, with a gun. I was lucky that he wasn't there to rob us, he was trying to escape. I was the one who was closer to him when he entered.

1 week and a half...

Its all about perspective I guess. I travel to countless countries every month, and haven't had that experience yet, I guess I have been VERY lucky lol. Are you from Brazil, or did you move there, because your English is very good.

If you are Brazilian and spreading this message because you don't want people to get hurt it is nice to hear that, but don't you think you guys and your government should work on people's safety rather than making it unattractive for visitors?

I can say you're lucky. There are numbers that we can look at so we can see how dangerous a place is. If you have time, check brazil's. You'll get surprised.

Thank you. I am from brazil, though. I started to learn english when I was 7, and now I'm 17. 10 years of training helped a lot.

You are correct. However, that's very hard. Our government doesn't give a damn. It is too corrupt to actually care a bit about the population.

And our people, well, they are too dumb. Many people think that brazil is awesome because it has soccer. Others may even acknowledge that it is bad, but they think socialism or anarchism are the solution. And others think that breaking everything(including some laws) in a manifestation is the solution.

As you can see, this country is doomed. There is no salvation anymore.
