Is your Naruto fave your overall fave as well? And if not, why?

In other words, if you have faves from any other manga or fiction that you like better than your Naruto fave, what makes them superior in your eyes? For example, I'd say that my overall favorite manga character is Kimblee from FMA, and I like him more than NV characters simply because he is a combination of different villain archetypes (mad bomber and smooth psychopath) that isn't seen in Naruto. Similarily my favorite manga female is Gavrill from Franken Fran (my avatar), and she's basically a killing machine who also has character depth. Needless to say, there are no females like that in Naruto.

Don't get me wrong, I still love my Naruto faves, just a bit less than others.

Oh, and if your Naruto fave IS your overall #1, what makes them superior to all others?

History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi is my favourite manga of all time.

A true underdog story unlike Naruto which feigns underdog status.

I didn't read many mangas; but from all the mangas i read Lee is my fave.

Idk if he my fave from all the fictional stories though. I am usually in to sci-fci; which character development and individual depth gets overshadowed by created universe most of the time.

My favorite series and fictional thing ever is Avatar. If we're going just manga/anime, than my answer is Soul Eater for the manga is my favorite manga ever. If we're talking characters, than my favorite fictional character is Azula from Avatar with Two-Face from Batman in a close second and Chazz Princeton from Yugioh GX in third or even tied with second. Again, if it's manga/anime only, than I'd say my favorite character is Chazz.

As for why, I love the vibe of Soul Eater. The artwork is amazing and I love the theme. The characters are awesome, I loved the stories, and it's just right up my alley. For Avatar, it's my most favorite fictional thing ever because everything clicks. It's hard to explain. The style, characters, arcs, everything just clicks. Same for my favorite characters. Their personalities and everything about them just clicks.

Naruto's a major favorite of mine, but I just like others more.

No, my overall favorite is either Professor Stein from the Soul Eater manga, or Gatts from Berserk, both of them because of their complete and utter badassery. Favorite female is Robin from One Piece, she is one of the most well written female characters ever that's for sure, and she's beast! I love Naruto and it's characters but there are characters from other manga I just like so much more.

It's the same for me actually, I love sci-fi thrillers where characters aren't as significant as the story/mystery.

I âm actually all for characterization but sci-fci is my favorite genre and i don't mind since the created universes happen to be much better developed (Solaris or 1984-to an extent- are few exceptions in terms of characterization). Narutoverse is not that developed as a universe and some characters are below mediocre, but few ones fleshed out very well to make up for rest.

Yeah pretty much. But then again I didn't watch that much anime and Naruto is the series that I followed the longest.

As for cartoons/animes, my favourites are Avatar: TLA and FMA. So, my top favourite characters are Aang and Roy Mustang. And yeah, I like them more then Hiruzen, Minato and etc. Don't know why though.

my favorite fictional character is link from the legend of zelda skyward sword as for female its also zelda from skyward sword as for why id say link is a genuine hero hes never to op but is never too weak a strategist at heart and as for the skyward version i felt he had more emotion this time (not to say other links dont) also when he looks badass he looks badass. and the reasons for ss zelda is that she was the most enjoyable incarnation of zelda for me her relationship with link was the strongest its ever been

but if we only talk anime and manga my favorite character is minato namikaze hes always been an awesome character to me and he kinda reminds me of link quite a bit and favorite manga/anime female character is judith from tales of vesperia (their is a manga, so i say it counts lol)

Well, I always like it when the lore is interesting, and the more science-y it is, the better. Obviously it doesn't really apply to Naruto, that's why I can't name it my #1. But the lore doesn't have to be elaborated upon to be interesting.

Maybe Mugen from Samurai Champloo... total badass that in the end cares more than he wants to admit.

Or L from Death Note.

My fave is Archer, from fate/stay night.

Why do I like him? Well he's bad*ss for starters. He's the type that'll look death strait in the face and say "no biggie." He's cynical, cocky, and can be a jerk at times, but I find myself immensely enjoying that when he fights.

He also serves as a cautionary tale for those who take their ideals too far.(although I don't completely agree with a good deal of the philosophies in the series) I can't get into him too much more without spoilers so be warned.

He's the future version of the main protagonist Shiro Emiya. Shiro was orphaned in a fire that left him the only survivor in an entire town, and from that point on, he pretty much lost all emotions regarding happiness except for saving people. He can't bear to see those in front of him suffer. In the future Archer comes from, he continuously killed evil people in order to preserve happiness for others. However, people never understood why he did what he did and began to fear him. This lead to him being betrayed and blamed for a horrible event that he failed to stop. He had an unnamed lover (though I suspect who it was) who died. Archer died via execution and he didn't even fight back. He had no regrets.

However, his regrets started after he died. He made a deal with the world that if it enabled him to save several hundred people, that after he died, he would become a guarding(someone who defend the world). He thought that it would be great since he'd be helping people. However, guardians eliminate threats not evil. Anything that threatens the world will be eliminated along with any associated with it, regardless of innocence. Archer was forced to constantly see people suffer, which is the one thing he couldn't bear. Guardians also have no sense of time. This lead to Archer becoming cynical to the idea of a hero. Then he formulated a plan. To create a time paradox by killing his younger self to free himself.

Archer is such a well-written character, and is what Obito should have been.
