I am unclear as to what the original topic is meant to be, but I will give my opinion of the Itachi vs Obito debate. To be clear, this is about both characters during the time period that Itachi was still alive.
Information, the ability to use that information properly, and sometimes pure circumstance are as important to a fight as techniques are, especially between ninja. Before Itachi died we know that he and Obito were acquainted since the Uchiha clan massacre. What we do not know is how often they met and to what extent they interacted. They both seemed wary enough of each other to keep important tactical knowledge on themselves away from each other. To sum up, Itachi did not know Obito's true identity, Obito did not know the extent of Itachi's techniques, and Itachi did not know the secret of Kamui. These will play important later.
If Itachi and Obito decided to confront each other, I see the fight ending in a stalemate. Obito and Itachi were having a silent cold war for the entire manga, neither being able to move against the other because they recognized the lethality of the other. I will assume that Itachi has seen the teleportation aspect of Obito's kamui, but whether he saw the touch based version of warping something away is debatable. Obito knows that Itachi has the mangekyou sharingan, in addition to his mangekyou techniques, but the indirect method that Itachi uses to fight only makes that knowledge somewhat useful. So, let's look at a scenario.
Obito and Itachi will meet head-on, as there has never been a fight that either has snuck up on an enemy to engage a fight (within the fight they may sneak, but their initial confrontation with enemies has always been direct. With them both being Uchiha, and powerful ones at that, I assume that they may attempt to use illusions on the other, ending in a stalemate. This is while they are still only using their regular sharingan. With regular sharingan illusions not being a factor in this match (and within the illusions themselves they would have probably engaged in taijutsu battles) weapons and ninjutsu would be used by both. Itachi is a highly competent shuriken user, but with Obito's kamui, that skill would lose meaning. The same applies to Itachi's ninjutsu. Itachi would then wager his life on his usage of mangekyou skills. Tsukuyomi would be effective even on Obito, of this I am sure, so Obito would have to avoid getting caught by it. Amaterasu is not a deciding factor in the match because it can be avoided through kamui (Obito was caught by the amaterasu of Sasuke because he was not expecting it.) Itachi is an intelligent fighter, and all of his attacks, though seemingly meaningless, would all be used for a single purpose: to discover the secret of "Madara's" intangibility. And I believe that he will figure out that, at the very least, he cannot hit them man if he is intangible, but at the same time cannot be hit. The only possible chance of victory is, as Minato realized, a powerful counter when Obito's tangibility can be confirmed. Itachi will forgo chakra consuming mangekyou techniques for a single clone, to which Obito (knowing the pro's and con's of his own technique) will become as cautious as he was when fighting Gai, Kakashi, and Naruto. I do not see the fight reaching a conclusion at this point, as Itachi's taijutsu is noticeably better than the little Obito has displayed, and the two Itachi's coordinating their attacks would give Obito no chance to warp either of them without the threat of an immediate counter by the other. It would be a stalemate, and in all actuality, capturing Itachi in the kamui dimension would not be entirely beneficial to Obito. Obito has sent Fuu, Torune, Kakashi, Sasuke/Karin, and Naruto/Sakura to his dimension. And he eventually had to go back to that dimension to settle things with them. I doubt Obito would take the risk of allowing Itachi free reign in his dimension, as Itachi is too intelligent to leave to his own devices for too long in a battle situation. But in the kamui dimension the only means of confrontation available to Obito are direct ones (he cannot use intangibility.) Itachi would not lose that fight.
In conclusion, there is a reason why Itachi and Obito were stalemated for so long, and Itachi's death was the event that allowed Obito to finally begin moving in earnest. They would not be able to defeat the other without SIGNIFICANT harm to themselves, harm that may outweigh the actual victory. What does everyone else think?
