[Theory] How Obito Gained his Staff

I don't know if this was covered or common knowledge and I was too slow to get it, but I haven't seen this discussed before on NB, so I'll post my ideas.

I read the chapter, and something perplexed me:

Obito is obviously using Sage Mode, even *********** states it:

I believe that this Sage Mode he's using is what allows him to manifest the black spheres/staff, and not necessarily the Juubi's presence. Now I'll talk about how I believe he obtained this Sage Mode.

First off, I theorize that the Sage Mode is unlocked by absorbing the Juubi. Hagorama's called the Sage of the Six Paths for a reason. My first thought on how he gained it come from this panel:

I speculate that Obito may have used the Preta Path at that moment to absorb Sage chakra from Madara, like Madara did to Hashi, allowing Obito to instantly activate the Sage Mode and manifest a staff.

Another possibility could be this is that he was gathering Sage chakra before Madara arrived. It would explain how Obito gained control from Black Zetsu spontaneously.

Wouldn't that turn him into a slug, like how it turned one of Pain's paths into a frog when Naruto's sage mode was absorbed? I could be wrong.

I think it all has something to do with BZ as well. As you can see pretty much every panel since Obito got the staff, the half of him that is covered by BZ is still there except where his hand is.

I theory without a doubt is plausible, but a few questions need to be answered.

The black stuff Madara/Obito are using is Inyouton (yin yang release) without a doubt.

Now, how about the time he used inzanagi against Konan(which is a yin yang technique).

The item he held, was it also the same substance?

It's not necessarily Omnyudon. Omnyudon is added to the black spheres, but Obito was able to use them in his feral state without Omnyudon, since he couldn't permanently destroy the edo Kages' bodies in that state. And the staff is made from the black spheres

He was referring to the Naruto vs. Pain fight. When the Preta Path grabbed Naruto and turned into a toad statue because he couldn't handle nature chakra

Another thing that struck me, was the fact that there's a difference in Madara's staff and Obito's.
If you look at pictures of the Sage himself, you'll find that Obito's staff is the one the Sage had....

Hmm...That does raise questions, I actually just skimmed it when I first read it and thought he confused the toad statue for a slug statue or something. But yeah, that doesn't make sense

I don't know. I think Hagoromo was called the Sage of Six Paths because there were six original clans including his own that are the strongest in the ninja world. These clans had the strongest ninja and therefore had the strongest powers. The six paths we think of are just from the rinnegan's power. But what if the six paths were created from the powers of these 6 clans? The rinnegan was created from Kaguya's massive chakra and power to begin with so you could also say she originally formed the Uchiha's original power.

These are the 6 clans I think Hagoromo made up of the strongest ninja,
1. Senju = Body
2. Uzumaki = Chakra
3. Uchiha = Spirit
4. Utsutuski = unknown
5. Jugo's unknown clan = nature
6. Orochimaru's unknown clan = unknown??


When Obito was defeated and the tailed beasts were extracted, he still had the Gedo Mazo inside which was why I thought he still resembled the sage's appearance. But after Madara took that from him, he still didn't change. His appearance remained. Like his hair was still grey, not black. It could be that the he still had a small portion of the sage's power within him. And when the foxes chakra was added to black zetsu, it made that power stronger and that's why he was able to overpower black zetsu.

This may sound stupid but the reason for Madara's staff being incomplete is because he doesn't follow the sage's will. He denies the world and once Obito was able to realize the correct path, the sage granted them those powers. Obito's path is the same path that Naruto and Hagoromo himself wanted to live by. It could be the reason why the Nanoboko was not useful in the battle before because he didn't have the sage's will at that time. Only someone who thinks like the sage can harness the true power of the Nanoboko and the sage's staff,

So if you really think about it, Obito is following the sage's will. That staff he holds will be the key to defeating Madara. Now I'm not saying the staff will kill him. It will be what is contained within it that guides Naruto and Sasuke to put an end to Madara.
