[Discussion] What is actual reality?

Upon discussing about this with a friend of mine thought that I might as well open up a discussion here and see people's opinions on the matter.

We all have senses.

We have our eyes with which we perceive different stimulans and on which our bodies react differently. Some animals have systems that are more complex then ours yet some have systems that are much less complex. Some animals don't see color,some differ less,some see mosaically,some see ultraviolet lights. So pretty much we are all exposed to some reality depending on complexity of our organisam.

But what is actual reality? Are colors the way we see them? Does food really have taste or smell?

If there was to be an imaginary observer which is out of our organisam and reach what would the reality really be?

How are we suppose to know what really is reality,when we perceive it differently? All of the measurements are made looking for humans perspective. Maybe some sounds are extremely strong yet with very low frequency so we can't hear it but let's say our dog can or some other animal.

We are pretty much detecting let's say flickering air as a sound as well as a stimulans but is there really sound out of our brain? We are just perceiving flickering of air as a sound but what is a true nature of sound?

Reality is whatever we choose to accept as truth. Who's the say a schizophrenic's reality isn't just as real to them as the real world is to us? All in all, I think Itachi's quote on reality is pretty much what I also believe. Shit, how do I know this thread even exists? What if I'm just in a padded room and out of my mind, or what if you're the same, and this is all just us living in our heads. Fun to think about.

What we perceive as color is actually the difference in energy of wavelengths emitted by objects. Seeing is a matter of perception. I myself am colorblind so I see colors differently than everybody else.

Hearing is just how our minds interpret vibrations hitting against our eardrums.

Touch is how our minds interpret stimuli that com in contact with our skin.

So no, how we perceive reality is not the objective reality.

That's the thing I'll never understand when people say "It's what we accept as truth." No it isn't. Reality is what is concrete and there, there is no disagreement except for those who are mentally ill.

You cannot tell me that trees do not exist because you don't believe in them, just as much that I can't tell you that I could fly if I believed I could.

Yes there is. Scientist have been questioning our reality for a very long time. As it turns out, not everything is what it seems.

You're misinterpreting my post. Of course, from what we humans have been able to comprehend, there should be one universal plane of reality and existence, where if something exists and a logical rule applies for one, it exists and applies for all. But then, like you said, there's the mentally ill. What if someone truly doesn't believe in trees? Then that's their reality. It might not be a true reality, it's a false reality, a paradox. Like I said, it could all be in their head.

Then there's the possibility that trees really don't exist and it's in your head. Like, what if your entire life is just you in a padded room cuz you believe in "trees", which don't exist. You could be living in your head, a make-believe world where trees exist because you think they do. Same could be applied to someone who doesn't believe in trees. That's what I was saying.

If it exists it is real..
It is all about consciousness and the abitlity to explore and understand the sorroundings,thats how you know it is real it is there..Animals cant learn and explore understand and think that something exist and call it a reality...even if there is something beyond our senses or something looks different for some other being..it is how we see it and it is our reality,thats how we understand it.Like we have to use infrared camera to see infrared radiation

Reality is all in your mind in this plane of existence.

All the material world is(world consisting of matter) are organisms at a different rates of vibrations. That's also what separates the different planes of existence, i.e. Mineral, Plant, Animal, and Human. Every thing on this earth is set at a rate of vibration even down to atoms which have to vibrate together to make things. And mind is also in everything, everything down to the basic components of matter show some form intelligence. Which leads to my next point.

The only way the brain perceives it's surroundings are with the tools that translate the vibrations to it, I.e. Ears, Eyes, Tongue blah blah blah. And depending on your mental vibrations(basically your mood, psyche health or state of mind) will alter how you see and perceive those vibrations. So usually people who tend to be positive and happy enjoy life more because of this and have a better outlook on life.
