That sage mode Minato pulled off was a 100 percent asspulled. No where in the manga showed that he had learned it. Only thing we have seen is him summoning boss toad but Naruto did that in part 1, way before learning sage mode.

If anything, he felt what his sons body was going through and could mimic it. Hiruzen learned that his son died through Naruto sharing his memories. Another way is, that he was in the process of learning sage mode, died and was practicing it in the belly of the reaper just like he did with that half of kurama.

Pick and choose your theory.

In the end, we don't really know how such a fight would turn out between those two due to the fact that both of them are extreamly dangerous. We don't know exactly how strong or how far Minato has reached in his "sage mode." People claiming all these feats that Minato has not even shown. Yes, he has sage mode but it sure as hell don't mean he know all the things J-Man knew.

I don't see how Itachi was asspulled though, not many people knew all that the Uchiha clan could do in the first place. He was a mystery man but no where in history they said that Minato of the leaf trained under anyone for sage mode.

yet fukasaku referenced minato as one of the two naruto surpassed and if that wasnt talking about sage mode what was it talking about? had naruto at that point surpassed both minato and jiraiya in combat prowess?
