But if its passive how does anyone ever touch him?

Minato and torune both landed a blow while he was aware that he was being attacked.

What Minato did had to be done with a Kunai. If he would've attacked him head on then he would phased through like his Kunai.

He threw the Kunai as a faint and once Obito deactivated his "intagibility" to make contact with Minato to warp him, that's when Minato chose to teleport to the Kunai behind him and attack while Obito was still tangible.

In other words, Minato used a faint to land a hit on Obito.

If people want to agree that Obito had the reactions and perception to keep track of every paperbomb Konan used that touched him, I'm fine with that.

I believe it's passive though.

It's tough to say when you mention that. But Obito does have the Sharingan so I'm inclined to believe that his Sharingan kept track of it all thanks to its perception abilities and shinobi to tend to be awfully precise at times. Passive or not, Kamui and Obito's reaction feats are hax. Reacting to people like BM Naruto and Ei like it's nothing.

It has to be passive, otherwise how would he know what to activate the first time he used it against those Mist Nin? He would have been fodderized.

So its not passive.

Passive would suggest that it activates without obitos consent in reaction to dange(like gaaras sand from part one)

If he can be taken by surprise it can't be passive. You'd have to be flat out faster than his kamui. Which torune wasn't for sure. Minato...mabey ....

I believe is passive, what that guy said about those mist nin is actually true, but minato used the time inbetween going from intangibility (kunai)- tangibility (rasengan)- intangibility...to land a hit on him

I still think if it was passive the rasengan would have slipped through as well.........plus torune....he did nothing special, simple diversion combo with fuu and it didn't even completely fool obito yet he still got hit.

him activating kamui would be no different than someone tensing up a muscle before they are hit. If someone throws a punch at you your body reacts to it. His body(Along with himself) reacts by activing Kamui rather than flinching

If you're asking how Obito can send the correct part? Answer lies in Obito's incredible skill U_U

For him it's more like a muscle reflex kinda thing.
