Conclusion

Hiruzen should be able to use 8th gate since its not a KKG, and it will be far greater than Gai's because Prime Hiruzen was the strongest

Mastering the "Five Elements" is far harder than the "8th inner gates". Since "Five Elements" is a Rinnegan feat

In theory he should be able to use: EIG, Hiraishin, Rasengan(maybe even a step further and add an element), Chidori, and alot more

Actually I agree. kakashi can use the primary lotus right (or is that anime only) which requires the first gate. Either way, it can be done by normal people it just takes amazing skill. its a leaf techinique. Hiruzen can probably use it

Hashirama's figting style is 100% Mokutan, and he is not a professor to figure out how to use it like Lawd Hiruzen

It was stated by Orochimaru that he is capable of using everything in Konoha not KKG, unless you consider Orochimaru to be fodder.
