They have to be brought back from DEATH. They are DEAD.

I think we kind of just say "oh they're dead" because we know they'll come back, but just think about it. They are no longer living.

Kind of trippy to see from these characters.

Obito will try and fight Madara and lose, and at his Dying Breath, revive Naruto.
Naruto will wake up, and somebody will tell him the story of the Sage's Mama.

Then Naruto will be like, "To beat Madara, I have to eat the fruit." and then he eats it, and Solo's Madara.

There could be a Plot Twist where Sasuke gets revived, told the story, and also tries to find and eat the fruit, but Naruto and Sasuke meet up with each other and both share the fruit to combine their Powers and beat Madara, lol, but that's a little too Far Fetched.

Agree. This should be a really important moment but it's the dragonball z effect where death isn't a scary concept because too many ways to cheat death exist right now. We know there are techniques which can reanimate the dead, we know there are plenty of capable medics and we know there's literally a technique that can revive people from death.

Even the characters aren't hugely shook up over it and are just trying to save Naruto like he's comatose or paralysed of something. So if the characters aren't even that shocked, neither are the audience as a result.

No. They're not dead until they're burried. This is naruto, not some logic based manga. With a still heart, no pulse and no conciousness you don't die here unless kishi says you're dead.

just look at obito. No heart, still alive.
Look at tsunade. Cut in half, still alive.
