Current chapter show the Edo Minato senjutsu resengan (not the normal resengan) was kick by Madara to Kakashi stomach.Kakashi was exhausted from overusing his kamui and fighting so long in the war arc and he did not get kill by this full force attack.
Similarly ,there are many instances where resengan donot kill their oponents.For example Naruto vs Kabuto (part 1),Naruto vs Obito (part 2),Minato vs Obito/tobi in the past etc.
So it clear to you guys that chidori is better than resengan because it a piercing/jab which the lightning nature sharpen the attack and stun the opponent when it inside the opponent body.

Sasuke's first stab with danzou didn't kill him with his lighting chidori+sword

Chidori did kill a 10 years old Rin

Rasengan did kill several pain by jiraiya
Rasengan did kill last pain
Rasengan didn't kill kabuto


It all goes down how much power it is put in that "Jutsu" and how it was executed.

lol... chidori has lightning element infused in it. rasengan is just a rasengan. The fact that you decided to compare a nature elemental jutsu with just a ball of chakra shows how powerful rasengan truly is

over 600 chapters and people doesn't understand how rasengan works,sigh.
rasengan is a jutsu that grinds the surface it touches,and it's strength comes from the user's physical strength that guides it through the oppenent's body.
so if there was no one to guide and push the rasengan it won't do much damage.
on another note,when chidori and rasengan clashed you know what happened.

But Rasenshuriken and the giant rasengan the size of a truck are powerful.
Chidori was formed into different shapes (badass sword) and opened the way to other lighning Jutsus for Sasuke

At were they stand now (IN THEIR ENTIRETY) they're both powerful.

But Sasuke hasn't used his Chidori as often lately.
