Machi is the only member of team Chrollo that prefers to wear traditional Japanese-style clothing. She is the prettiest woman in the team. She looks like a modern day kunoichi — female ninja. Her usual outfit consists of cycling short-like pants matched with a short-sleeved uwagi, an obi sash worn around her waist and an obijime is tied over it, a pair of fingerless gloves,which conceal the Bartholomew signature,the paw imprints on the palms, tabi boots or socks with zōri, and leg warmers that cover from the ankles up to her knees. She has pink mid-back hair that is usually tied into an updo or a ponytail.

Machi is one of the coldest members of team Chrollo and always appears to be calm.She is a highly intelligent individual capable of making detailed battle plans for the mission and staying level headed to think of the best way to act in difficult situations.Machi is a person with sharp instincts that are trusted among her comrades.She has high regard for both her team and their skills,although she herself is one of the top in the team.She is loyal to her team and their leader,Chrollo but is also loyal to her clan,the Bartholomew's.Although she shows signs of kindness for the defenseless people,she doesn't feel any emphaty for those she needs to kill and doesn't hesitate to do so.Her favorite animal is the cat,although she likes most animals in general.

Machi was born in the Bartholomew clan which lived in the outskirts of Kirigakure.She went to the ninja academy in the Hidden Mist Village and was making progress quickly.She was always a serious student like most of her clan and she always did excellent on all exams.She knew about the Bloody exams which she had to pass in order to graduate from the academy.So she never cared much about making friends there because she knew that not before long she would have to kill some of them.However due to her skill in ninjutsu,she advanced three years ahead of her class and was then put against older kids.However they either hadn't represented much threat to her and she succeeded in defeating all her opponents and graduating from the academy at the age of seven.A year after that,a boy named Zabuza killed around a hundred of his classmates and after that the bloody exams were canceled.Once becoming a genin,she continued her training in all five elements and soon gained mastery over them.She also liked genjutsu quite much and paid special attention to it's techniques,learning how to use many genjutsu techniques and not just defending against them.Two years after becoming a ninja,she passed the chuunin exam with ease and learned even more techniques.She lived with her clan in the outskirts of Kirigakure,a few clan leaders were switched during that time,but Machi didn't pay much attention to that,she just waited for somebody to gain the title for long enough to train her in the clan techniques.At the age of twelve she proved herself much useful in a mission in which most of her team lost their lives,but she was able to defeat the rogues that stole some village scrolls.After that she was promoted into a jonin and quickly gained respect and popularity among the village officials.
After a few years the time for war has come and Machi was put on an elite team of shinobi that was to carry out special missions.The members of the team were:Chrollo,who became the team leader,Franklin,Pakunoda,Phinks,Shalnark and Feitan.They had various missions and they were successful in all of them.Team Chrollo became revered among all of the opponents of the Bloody Mist.The team was almost always on the move and was rarely in Kirigakure.They spent their time together so they got to know each-other very well.Machi found their company entertaining,fun and enjoyable.So she developed a strong bond with the other team members as did all the other members.They were all quite easy going and loved to joke but when it came to a serious fight everyone was fully prepared and their teamwork was excellent.One day,a shinobi from Amegakure stumbled upon the teams hideout.He wasn't hostile and even helped them.He taught Machi and Feitan the snake summoning contract which was very useful in the upcoming battles.However one mission didn't go very well.They were supposed to capture two important people from an opposing village.Chrollo,Machi and Pakunoda were the ones to do this.They succeeded in capturing them but it was a trap.While they were waiting for reinforcements.They were ambushed by the prisoners allies.It lasted just a few seconds,Pakunoda's hand was broken and Machi was stabbed in the waist.However,Machi used her skills with the ninja wires to bind the prisoners,the rest of the team quickly came and the enemies retreated.However as they secured the area they noticed the boss wasn't there.They searched for him and found a note that they must return the prisoners or Chrollo will be killed.One of the members,Pakunoda because they knew she was injured was to bring the prisoners to them alive and they will give them Chrollo back.
This is the first time an argue broke among the team.They were left with two choices,to return to the village with the prisoners and complete their mission.Or they could do as what the enemies requested and give the prisoners back.A single one of them needed to escort the prisoners to the exchange spot.The second option was very risky,they could end up loosing the prisoners,loosing the boss and loosing Pakunoda.Chrollo always said that he is the leader and that his orders are the primary objective,however he himself was not an objective and that if it is needed,he is to be sacrificed in order to keep the team alive.Nobody in the team wanted to betray Chrollo,but there were two groups that thought differently on what betrayal is in this case.Feitan,Phinks and Shalnark thought that they must follow Chrollo's orders and complete the mission regardless of what happens to him.Pakunoda and Franklin thought that they must try to rescue Chrollo.Machi was the last to vote,she was uncertain what to choose in the end she voted for the rescue of Chrollo because she admired his skills and leadership.Now it was 3-3 so they decided to flip a coin,as they always did when they didn't agree about something,they weren't permitted to fight among each-other.The coin was flipped and the decision was made,they were to rescue Chrollo.Pakunoda took the two prisoners to the exchange point and everything was going smoothly.Chrollo was already beside her when the enemies attacked.However the team was prepared and reverse summoned them.There they found out that Chrollo's chakra was sealed away so they returned quickly to Kirigakure to recover.Soon afterwards the war ended.Machi and the rest of the team was excused from regular missions because of their good performance.Years past quickly.They all still kept in touch and got together every now and then.In this time,a new promising leader of the Bartholomew clan was chosen.His name was Priest Alexander Bartholomew and he taught Machi the basic Bartholomew clan abilities and techniques.He said that in order for her to gain further training,she will need to find a surviving Kaguya clan member and defeat him.Machi started the search but was interrupted when the Mizukage summoned her and her team.This time another elite team was merged with theirs meaning even more dangerous missions were to follow.The leader of their team was the now recovered Chrollo.Now Machi and her team along with the new members:Uvogin,Bonolenov,Kortopi,Nobunaga,Hisoka and Shizuku were waiting to receive their new orders.

#|Machi's favorite element is wind release.It was the first element she fully mastered and she continued training in and tended to get better at it.She also uses the giant fan to further enhance her wind mastery.Due to her hard training in this field Machi is able to perform all wind techniques with only one hand seal.
#|Her fan is silver with three pink circles on it.
#|Machi was also very fond of earth release and has a high degree of mastery over this element as well.She trained very hard in it and now is able to perform all earth techniques with overall speed.
#|Machi has signed the snake summoning contract and summons the snake via the use of a summoning tattoo. It is located on her right wrist
#|She can use female ninja techniques.
#|Machi can use all Bartholomew clan techniques available to level one Bartholomew ninja.Also because of being a trusted member of Kirigakure,she has access to every village hidden technique.
