According to his height, Murasakibara acts very lumpish. He fools around at serious times, which is not always well received. He is mildly sadistic and childish. The only reason he battles, is because he's good at it, he doesn't care for the sport at all. He is sort of a sweet tooth as he is seen eating sugar-related foods all the time, except when he is in a game. It is also mentioned that Murasakibara also spends every single penny he has on these kinds of junk food.

Murasakibara was born in Kumogakure, he was a famous basketball player within Kumogakure, he was naturally best at everything he did, nobody was good enough to compete against him besides Akashi, Murasakibara tried every sports but after a short time it became very boring for him, at the age of 14 he was desperate for a real challenge in anything fun out there, therefor he planned upon taking a trip away from Kumogakure with the permission of the village leader, During his days away from his home village, Murasakibara was still yet good at every sports out there, he couldn't find not one player who could fairly compete against himself. He then planned on making his return back to the village, during his way back home he came across a shinobi who was willing to risk his life for the sake of his comrades in battle, Murasakibara couldn't stand his useless effort to beat his opponents, he then challenged the shinobi to a basketball match, the shinobi was crushed by Murasakibara in the match, but till the end he never gave up even tho the result was obvious. Murasakibara asked him why he would keep up his useless effort instead of giving up, the shinobi replied with the following words "that's my ninja way", Murasakibara was confused, he had once been invited to become a shinobi as he was suited for it, Murasakibara caught interest in shinobi's ninja ways, to find explanation to it, he decided upon becoming after his return so he could discover what the ninja way is like, in other words he became a shinobi plainly out of curiosity and son continues his adventures as a shinobi.
