Everyone and their mothers bring up the fact that kakashi outsmarted itachi the first time they met in part 2, but what people dont remember is this...

Itachi said himself that he couldnt use MS. So why did he bother using a genjustu that requires eye contact here?

Keep in mind that before this happened, itachi had already put naruto in a genjustu.
So if kakashi really outsmarted itachi, why didnt he land the final blow? because he couldnt plain and simple. I mean why didnt kishi reveal kakshi's ms against itachi?

Kakashi couldn't kill him because of the plot and itachi could not kill him because of plot that's why. No crazy explination, then the story would have to change completely. Thats not like itachi to attack he always has a plan and its weird for kakashi not to have chidori on when lunging forward. Plot kept this situation civil. Kakashi could have used kumai and aucked him in and itachi could have genjutsu and finiahed him, plot. I do understand where your coming from though.
