Why Kabuto is Great

It is sad that not a large amount of people "get" Kabuto's character. Some people don't think on such a level, others simply do not like him for whatever reason. Either is fine.
Yeah, those quotes are pretty epic. In the Viz, what he says to Itachi when he's already under Izanami is better.

"How did I get this wrong?! Where have I ever made a mistake?! All I ever wanted was someone to be there for me! To acknowledge me! To appreciate me!! Tell me, where is the mistake in that?!"
Such powerful lines.

That's very thoughtful and interesting.

I THINK Orochimaru appreciated him, but knowing the latter's character he was probably a pawn.. v_v

Another thing I like about Kabuto's character, was how quickly he changed from good to bad in the series.
One second he's helping Naruto and Sasukie and Sakura, giving them information and stopping them from getting disqualified and taking hits for them... The next second he's giving Orochimaru information on Sasuke. That was a pretty cool scene.

Eh, he was useless against their opponents and was using them for information.

why I think Kabuto is such a magnificent character.

The reason is actually very simple. He, unlike any other villain in the manga or any other villain that I can recall, he merely wants attention. Love. Someone to notice him. For all of the power he amassed

there are lots of other characters like that and in this manga, Naruto is one and Sasuke was one. Sakura , Konohamaru , Lee, Karin, Hinata, TenTen, Obito. They all wanted power and people to notice them at some point. Its not too original or different, but Kabuto is a broken character though.

there are lots of other characters like that and in this manga, Naruto is one and Sasuke was one. Sakura , Konohamaru , Lee, Karin, Hinata, TenTen, Obito. They all wanted power and people to notice them at some point. Its not too original or different, but Kabuto is a broken character though.

None of them has walked such a dark path for such an innocent reason. The people you listed, except Naruto and Sasuke, cannot be compared to Kabuto.

Sasuke was on one of the cards, just as others on the chunin exam were, like Naruto for example.

I just specified that what that person was talking about, were the cards.
The person you replied to meant the cards, since he was talking about how Kabuto took hits for them and was helping them (which he did in the chunin exam in part 1).

Sasuke doesnt need to be a threat for Oro to want info on him.

I know he was there. He entered it with the disguise of that grassshinobi guy.

Oro got some info himself by fighting Sasuke and Kabuto gave Oro some info.
I dont remember what info exactly in detail Kabuto provided to Oro.

One of the things I am referring to now, is that chakra scalpel fighting style.
Its kinda unique as well. I havent seen anyone else fight like that.
