You completely ignored its context. Which Sasuke led to to his real question "When did you do use it?"

Sasuke already understood how Izanami works, when Itachi explained that he needs to make the same sensation twice in order for it to be complete, he was curious to know the first time, since he has been questioning Itachi when it will all be over[
