Nope. I found their optimism of the situation refreshing and reminded me just why I love these clowns. Lee had his moment to mourn and avenge Neji and now he can't let it hold him back.

Tenten especially is remembering Neji fondly- as both she and they would.

The fact that they're being passionate and light-hearted in the middle of the end of the world should already tell you everything you need to know about their characters. They had their moment to grieve for Neji but since then they've been hit with TBBs, God Tree branches, Juubis, Juubi hosts- it's in character for these 3 to keep moving on.

You 2 are missing the entire point. It isn't they are being light hearted. We get that it's their character. Nor are we saying they should be sitting around moping about Neji. The point is that Neji just died and they are using him as the brunt of their comic relief. It's life coming out of a funeral and making fun of the person who just died. That Tenten is remember Neji is sweet. The fact that she has that silly look on her face while she does it is....too soon, thus my opinion that it is in bad taste.

A simple 1 panel shot of Tenten with her eyes looking down and reminiscing for a brief moment was all that was needed there. Gai and Lee doing what they do is fine.

Ever watch Naruto SD? You get more of an insight into Tenten's personality and bond with the group. Her and Neji were never as insanely dedicated or passionate as Lee or wore the jumpsuit but they all abide by the same team beliefs. Tenten is functioning with the same mindset as Lee and Guy. As would Neji deep down.

It adds up IMO.
