I don't exactly know how puting yin Kurama in Naruto could save him but whatever, Kishi decided to create another inconsistency around it again. Gaara did say just infront of BZ that Naruto would survive if he receives yin Kurama:

But besides Naruto, who is on the verge of dying yet? That's right Obito Uchiha, a Uchiha whose lifeless body now belongs to BZ. But if yin Kurama really helps to recover, then it would mean Obito would recover instead and in the end he would be the one to overpower BZ. I always wondered what was the point in keeping Obito alive so far and now i think i get it. Brillant move Kishi

Well it is a possibility since he was able to overcome the Juubi... Maybe all he needs is some sort of trigger, like it was in the past with Team Minato's photo, especially Rin.

Maybe seeing the dire situation Naruto is in and him regretting what he did, this will make him overcome the BZ and then change his life for Naruto's by giving away the Yin Kyuubi.

Yeah the thought had crossed my mind a while ago. Obito could not only overpower BZ but also save Naruto and Sasuke before giving Naruto the Yin Kurama!

This crossed my mind yesterday too. Sets up the Kamui bros true power, gives Naruto and Sasuke time to meet in the afterlife then get revived and finish Madara off.
