How the Sasuke Retrieval Arc could have gone

I've been wondering, would the turnout of the Sasuke Retrieval Arc have been any different if the matchups were different? Well, it's up for debate at this point.

The battles are...

Location is the same as Neji vs. Kidomarou, Intel is restricted to none.

imo all win but shikamaru vs kidomaru he isn't seeing it coming, he doesn't have the eyesight and he took Neji the 2nd best field of vision in the Hyuga clan and he gets through it, only Neji can handle Kidomaru. it would take part 2 Shikamaru for him to beat Kidomaru

Kiba vs. Tayuya-depends whether Akamaru can Break him out of gen, dogs can hear or not hear different frequencies compared to humans, if Akamaru won't be effected by genjutsu and smart/trained enough to bite Kiba, he can win. But it's freakin dog So it is doubtlful.
Chouji vs. Sakon and Ukon-Sakon Ukon merge can be effected by Chouji's pull effects... Then there is rashomon gate to block Chouji. Sakon Ukon takes this imo.
Shikamaru vs. Kidomarou-Kido wrecks. He would stuck in webs; he is not fast enough to dodge begin with.
Neji vs. Jirobou-on ground Jirobou could win unless Neji can force his way out of dome. But this location is on top of trees/between trees, So No earth techs reaching that easily. Neji would blitz him and proceed to wreck with 8T64P like he did here:

Kiba vs Tayuya: i'd say Kiba. Gatsuuga won't do nothing, so they'll have to go straight into Garouga, which will pretty much cut everything. This is assuming Akamaru can piss on Tayuya.

Choji vs Sakon/Ukon: Sakon/Ukon takes this. Choji will charge as a ball and the duo will just Rashomon his face :|

Shikamaru vs Kidomaru: Kido... He has 0 chances of evading the multiple projectiles Kido will throw (i won't even mention the webs).

Neji vs Jirobo: I'd say Neji. Kaiten will defend against Doton and once Jirobo goes CM2 he's pretty much just a super strong guy waiting to be 8T64P'ed.

Eating the red pill defeats Sakon and Ukon, Chouji takes him down with them.

Kiba goes Double Headed Wolf and slaughters. Tayuya can't hide from him and play her flute, he'd sniff her out easy.

Kidomaru already defeated Shikamaru in canon. Shikamaru's only hope is delaying him, not defeating him.

Neji wrecks Jirobo.

Kiba beats Tayuya. Shikamaru stated Kiba or Neji should have fought Tayuya because close combat is her weakness.

Sakon and Ukon are going to stomp Choji. Jirobo is the weakest of the sound 4. Choji barely managed to bring him down...Sakon and ukon can fuse with choji.

Shikamaru gets murdered by Kidomaru, he's not breaking the web and Kidomaru is the smartest member, Shikamaru's strategy won't be enough.

Neji murders Jirobo, there's not much to really say besides 8 tri grams.

Agree with yours except for Neji vs Jirobo. Neji only got caught by the dome because he and Shikamaru were spotted by the sound 4 and couldn't really fight.

The only reason all of the Sound 4 lost was because of outside interrputions, personality flaws (cockiness etc) and bad matchups. You really think Naruto, Chouji or Kiba could've worked out Tayuya's jutsu? Even Neji may have not been enough. The best Shika was able to do was stalemate.

You think anyone but Neji could beat Kidomaru? When Neji was unable to fight Kidomaru was beating them all at ONCE. Look what happened when Naruto tried.

Hm, i've said it all before in other threads and I might go back and find that but the basic summation of it was that the Sound 4 all got the perfect bad-matchup out of the group. The person who could take them or at least stalemate with them. Their biggest weaknesses were their playful and cocky personalities which made some of them play with their food, or taunt an enemy into a suicide tech or play the long-game and this resulted in their deaths. Their personalities and abilities matched up and I honestly believe for example that no other ninja other than Chouji could take out Jirobo. First example.
